Lukaku. Yes or no

I'm not sure how familiar with GOT Lukaku threads you are, but this kind of wilful ignorance is a theme that has pervaded every single thread about him since he signed for us in 2013. You can point these things out a thousand times and you'll still see them posted by the same posters again in a few months.
Sadly I’m fully aware which is why I usually stay away from them. Not quite sure why I decided to venture back in last night but even if it is futile I will try and provide facts for the ones on here who actually care about them.

The guy hasn’t played for us for years, don’t know why people are still bothered about trying to make him look bad.

Apart from that list being very selective, It would be interesting to see how many goals the players above him on the list scored against the other 14 teams.
More points to be gained there.

Imo, he's a very good striker but not a great striker.

You seem to think your right about everything. I see you blanked me when I quoted you celebrating one of Doms pointless goals the other week

I was wrong about DCL. I'm wrong about plenty of stuff. Always put my hands up when I am.

I'm not wrong about Lukaku, and I never was.

With Calvert-Lewin, I'm not actually that interested in the goals he's scoring, mostly because of the opposition. It's his general play which has improved massively. Very physical, causing defences problems throughout the game - the anti-Lukaku.

I believe Lukaku created more problems today than DCL did like but ok. The issue I have is the sticks you use to beat Lukaku with you use against know one else, its abit weird.

Because no other striker in world football is as insanely overrated on the basis of being a flat track bully against smaller teams.

He's uniquely overrated by loads of people, despite all evidence to the contrary. 1 goal against the top six for United, none against the top clubs in Italy last season, missing totally in terms of general play against those very same clubs, yet he'll go and bang 10 in against Lecce or West Ham and everyone purrs. Does my head in; like everyone's lost the plot.

Always said this. A great man for the last two goals in a 4-1 win over West Brom or Fulham. Always thought he was overated and cumbersome

I must confess to very much enjoying Roberto’s first season with us and Big Rom was an integral part to that. Sadly we got ‘Pulised’ at the end when a top 4 finish was in the offing, but hey...’Everton that’.
By the by, the word ‘offing’ has nautical provenance: it means ocean that is nearby or in immediate vicinity.

He looks like he's had an air-hose stuck in him, his size compared to a few years ago is ridiculous. With the bald head as well he's virtually unrecognisable from the player we all remember.

Just don't think the striker type that he's morphed into flourishes in this league anymore, we saw that in his final 12 months at United. Inter are a huge club but he's basically out of sight and out of mind there, and he probably won't win anything either given Juventus' dominance. Such a shame, he could have been our most legendary striker ever had not let his ego run wild and jumped.
