Lukaku. Yes or no

They are very different players. Lukaku is lazy but a better finisher. DCL works a lot harder but gets himself out of position and misses some easy chances. Though he has improved (considerably) so far, this season. Lukaku is a 'no' from me.

Looks like he's shed a bit of that bulk...not sure what he or united were thinking off over that.
He wouldn't come back anyway and I'm not sure he would fit in if he...by some miracle(?)...he did...which he won't

Lukaku isn't even lazy.

I actually question the football judgment of the people who think he's actually not good. It's mind boggling.

Being really good but not one of the best in the world is not being found out
Of course it does.
Lukaku wanted all the prestige of being associated with one of biggest clubs in club football, but couldn't find that extra that turns good players into really good players(your words).
Also it's equally telling that Utd wasted no time in offloading him to Inter.

He's playing for the second best team in Italy. People acting like this is some kind of giant fall need to reevaluate.

No need to re-evaluate my points at all thank you.
Lukaku along with his agent have done exceptionally well for his limited talent.
As I said originally if you're making statements like this you're either entirely too bitter over a player who did really well for us or very much not able to see what a good footballer looks like. Your pick.

Don't try to put your words into my mouth mate.
He slotted well for us and we got a nice return on our investment. I truly thank him for it.
But I as many have stated already in other threads, he did get found out at Utd. Many longstanding Utd ticket holders hold the same view.
Much as I loved watching Serie A in it's heyday it's now viewed as step down from the English and Spanish leagues.

Just because you keep saying he got "found out" doesn't make it true.

Some people on here seem to forget that United were largely rubbish when he was there. It’s not like he went to a prime Ferguson United and stunk the place up. He’s not a creator, he needs players to supply him which United didn’t really have then. He was also playing in a Mourinho team that tended to play defensively against other “Big 6” teams and so he was often feeding off scraps.

Mourinho almost ruined Lukaku. Bought one of the best natural goalscorers in the league and bulked him up and tried to make him a target man. He's always been a poacher and someone who likes to run into gaps. What United did with him was like taking a Rolls Royce off road and wondering why it got stuck in the mud.

He was / is boss. I was gutted he left and we struggled to adapt thanks to moonhead jizzing out transfer fees up the wall.

Would I have him back? Without hesitation.

But that ship has sailed and we have a talented young England striker doing just great now, thank you very much
