Lukaku. Yes or no

Some people on here seem to forget that United were largely rubbish when he was there. It’s not like he went to a prime Ferguson United and stunk the place up. He’s not a creator, he needs players to supply him which United didn’t really have then. He was also playing in a Mourinho team that tended to play defensively against other “Big 6” teams and so he was often feeding off scraps.
They finished second and him and Pogba were the best United outfield players yet people still act like neither of them are any good. As I said, mind boggling. People need to just admit they don't like them for whatever reason and leave it there instead of trying to justify a clearly nonsense opinion about their ability.

That's along the lines of what the Manc supporting in - laws said.

I've just counted 9 posts from your goodself telling us what a great player Lukaku is and criticising anyone with an alternative view. We all have our views on various issues and should accept that there are people with different or opposing views. It only takes one post to state your case and why. I doubt anyone will change their views as a result of the 8 post overkill.

Lukaku isn't even lazy.

I actually question the football judgment of the people who think he's actually not good. It's mind boggling.
Not lazy but he certainly measures his effort, concentrates on what he is good at ie not harrying defenders, contesting aerial challenges, showing for speculative outballs, pressing from the front. For better or worse you can't really play this way at Goodison Park - just the way it is. You give 100% or you GTFO.
It's why someone like Tim Cahill is loved to this day, but big Rom gets a decidedly colder response despite them being on completely different tiers of ability.

It's called a discussion friend. We won't be having one though as I see no reason to have your posts appear on my screen anymore.

James does a similar game. If we criticize him for it I'm going to take issue with you all. Not everyone is built for 90 minutes of sprinting.

Ballon d'or nominated Tim Cahill yeah? That one? Talisman for club and country, goalscorer at three World Cups with an unfancied nation? Massive big game player who scored - and performed - consistently in big games, including three Merseyside derbies at Anfield and is our post-war leading goalscorer against them?

That one?

He was 10x the player Lukaku was, is and ever could be. Not just for "effort" - but just because he's a far superior footballer.

I didn't actually believe that Cahill was nominated and thought you were confusing it with the Puskas but you're right he did make the list in 2006. Of course he didn't get any votes and other nominees included Cris, who I've genuinely never heard of, Edison Mendez, who I also didn't know and who played two seasons in the Dutch League as his only time in Europe, and Joe Cole. But this is nonetheless stone cold proof that Romelu Lukaku is a bad footballer and I commend you for finding it.

That's like saying Cristiano Ronaldo winning the Golden Boot doesn't count because Lee Trundle scored once that season.

Point is an Everton player was nominated. Do you want to go through the 1988 nominees you haven't heard of to write off Neville Southall too?

This whole thread would be funny if you weren't serious. But you are serious which makes it a bit sad.
