Lukaku. Yes or no

Marcus Bent did more for us than Rooney did, Rooney was still the best striker to wear our shirt in the last 30 years.
Rooney wasn’t the best striker we had. He may have been the most naturally talented but he wasn’t scoring 20 goals a season like Lukaku or Yakubu - a strikers job is to score goals. Don’t get me wrong once Rooney left and grew up at Utd at that time he was better but not comparing his time at Everton when he was a teenager.

He was a better player at 17 than he was at 28.

As a 17 year old only maradonna and Pele compare.

Rom was fine today guys but even if you didn't think he was it's probably an overreaction to use this as an indictment on him or the signing by Chelsea.

I actually agree. That said, he didn't do anything particularly of note, but the difference was prior to the red card he was always looking to be involved and it didn't look like Chelsea were playing with 10 men, which is what the normal Anonymu Lukaku performance in these fixtures would be.

The red card means it's unfair to judge him on this game, just as it'd be unfair to judge him on murdering the worst Arsenal team in living memory. Long way to go either way.
