Lukaku. Yes or no

for the record Lukaku has played for Chelsea twice and Man United once - 2 teams that have dominated the prem in the past years.......... in his time at both clubs he has won nothing.

Alan Shearer went to Newcastle and won nothing - expectedly really as they have never won anything. Lukaku despite setting himself up with big money moves to historically successful sides has massively underdelivered

People often overlook the fact that he isn't that great a footballer.

yeah but if an 8 year old was gonna draw a picture of what a dream footballer would look like - it would have been Rom with dreadlocks with massive feet, massive legs, a net busting shot etc etc

so on the basis of that his inability to bully centre halves or control a football doesn't matter - they will always have the goal against Chelsea and I will always have his FA cup semi final against Man United in my mind to remind me of the footballer he will always invariably be.

The club isn't up to his level??? we are the 4th most successful club in England and at the time of playing for us he had won nothing and since then has struggled to show a good level in our league.

Don't disrespect our club for the sake of a player who didnt respect us - you are not an Evertonian
lol lol lol lol

I actually watched the matches. Comparing Ashley Young to Lukaku would get you laughed at. Which is all I'm going to do at your posts from now on.

lol lol lol lol
I compared Ashley Young to Lukaku? really?

Compare = "to examine or look for the difference between two or more things"

Or did I just say that Ashley Young ripped it up over there......

I didnt say he was better, worse or the same did I?

deary me,

If you're not comparing them why bring up Ashley Young?

lol lol
I even posted the definition of what Compare means.... which I wasn't doing.

I was using Ashley Young as a means of putting "context" to trampoline shins exploits in Italy.....

Context= the interrelated conditions in which something exists or occurs

Everyday is school day!

The context is Young was successful too? That's dumb. Sorry. lol

You’re having such a mare in this thread.
People are just way too damaged from Lukaku telling us to do one.

The correct take is Rom is a high level striker who is one of the greats of this era even if he's not the greatest (he's obviously not). Also correct is that his teams level of success is not exclusively tied to him (United were a mess, Chelsea now are saddled with beating two amazing sides, even Inter didn't win only because of him, Conte and the team were great too) and shouldn't be used as a stick to beat him with as an individual.

Anyone trying to have a go at him for this that and the other has some kind of outside issue with the guy whether it be how he left, how he conducts himself or something more unsavory. There isn't anything else to discuss and Ashley freaking Young doesn't change it.

Its not your fault, being a young Merican, but the pysche of a normal UK football fan is clearly lost on you. As your "something more unsavory" suggestion clearly implies.

Its deeply based on respect. For your employer, for the supporters, and couched in humility. Rom showed little of those traits here, hence what you read.

That isn't lost on me I don't think. But it is also why a bunch of damaged Evertonians come on here and look to tear Lukaku down.

I personally don't operate that way, but what concerns me more is not whether that attitude is good or bad so much as the dishonesty it brings.
