So why did Jelavic only score 7 the season before?

Wasn't with the Martinez approach though was it, we have completely transformed the way we play since Jelavic. My point is the way we currently play I believe many strikers good do allot better for half the price.

I know this but people are acting like he can walk on water, he is scoring average goals in a very good Everton side, goals that I believe anyone could score if they play lone striker for us.

What I just saw from Lukaku was class though, going over to the lad who replaced him and scored at the final whistle and giving him a hug and congratulating him.

He could easily have had his nose put out of joint and sulked, but that was class.

We scored 6 more goals last season, 6 more goals in an entire season, its hardly ground breaking.

I think the Martinez approach would be proven useless without a player of lukakus calibre to finish those chances.

Dont even know why I come in this thread to justify the fact he is not all that good, but it appears a few people have watched a few motd highlights that build him up as the next Drogba and have fallen for it.

I am struggling to name one above average goal he scored for Everton last season besides the Arsenal one, not just that, but he offers nothing else either, awful workrate, doesn't use strength, can't pass, no interplay, cant head, lazy runs, bad technique and first touch - some people need to open their eyes.

I agree with this mate my thoughts are he was in a cracking team last season playing attacking footy so was his return REALLY all that?

His start for us was fantastic but either he started getting marked out of it or became billy big bolix thinking easy this. Whatever it was it's carried on and he's done nothing in this WC really hard to figure because he WAS so good now he's dog snot.

No mate, the same Kone who I watched stink the place out for 120minutes against League One Stevenage and for 90% of games I watched him for Wigan.

I will be surprised if hes ever fit.
