Because Sky aren't the be all and end all mert. They are also basing a fair bit on what a assistant coach "expects" and Rom changing his bio on twitter. It's hardly concrete.
Our side and some of those loosely connected in the media are a little more confident. It's very much not over at all yet.

There's not enough evidence ( in my opinion) to which I'm confident he's signing there's more against than for.

You could be correct but its looking unlikely, and I believe sky before i Believe the " red Liverpool echo"
He was on his way to West Broms training ground last August according to the font of all knowledge that is Sky mate.

They've got 24/7 to fill, they therefore regurgitate any old crap and spin it into a 'story'

Three journalists who have previously had connections to the echo and one BBC journalist have said the club are confident of the deal happening. This is weighed up against an assistant coach expecting Rom to return and Sky guy deciding that Jose will give Lukaku his chance in friendlies. It's hardly conclusive.

There was clearly a bit of momentum behind the story on Friday but now it seems to be rather an anti-climax.

Greg O'keefe hasn't scotched it yet, only a matter of time though I fear! Delighted to be wrong though.

Everything will work out okay, one way or another.

Even if we don't get him, we'll get someone in who'll be very good. I have complete faith in Martinez' judgement, especially after last season.

Yeah, but one option lets people have a crack at Kenwright again. So that's obviously the preferred choice.

But we still don't know if these "
Journos are correct " and I woudnt beleive anybody who works for the echo. I hope your right and others who will think he will sign

The question is how much money in transfers have Chelsea taken in versus how much they've spent.

Demba Ba out £8m
David Luiz out for £40m

Diego Costa in £32m
Fabregas in £30m
Filipe Luis in £20m

Thats net spend £34m

For Financial Fair Play selling us Lukaku for £18-£20-odd million will help them enormously on their three year average.

Would mean next two year they can make a loss of 14.5million per season (then factor in our transfer money) to meet the rules.

Without our money - its £5.5million losses per year limit.

He'll be sold.

This will make Chelsea in the eyes of UEFA happier that losses are declining.

It is mandatory for Chelsea to reduce losses in 2013-14 to ensure that it remains compliant with FFP during the second monitoring period, the club will still be allowed around £38m in total losses over the 2011-12, 2012-13, and 2013-14 books.

My nail is in the "Chelsea will sell him and Everton will sign him" mast

People will believe what they want to believe for whatever reasons. Some won't be convinced that Kenwright can deliver.
We will end up stronger than we are currently and quite substantially so, I'd have thought this window. It's not Rom or nothing (and we still stand a pretty good chance of getting Rom).

So you're saying it's not time to start cracking each other's heads open to feast on the goo inside?

I'd say those journos are quite likely to know what our side of the deal feel about it, obviously I doubt they are too clued up on Roms intentions, but signs are still no worse than they were.
