No.

Arsenal HAVE to make a 30million profit a season to fund the stadium debts. Primarily this has been coming from Champions league revenue.

The fact they again made Champions league with the new tv deal does take the pressure off.

But again. They were close at points to having major problems in their budgets and "loan defaults". The lender had first priority on arsenals profits. Plus PENALTIES for not meeting repayments.

Again. The situation is similar with Chelsea now.

Chelsea have a pressure from FFP. To sell Lukaku to Everton.

Those that doubt this are sticking their heads in the sand.
You do realise that Arsenal make a large annual profit, have no short term debt and over £120m in cash reserves don't you?

No?

Thought not

You said they were heading towards financial meltdown.

All this says to me is they have a business model that is successful dependent on their continued level of achievement. Considering that they are now able to spend more on transfers than ever before I would say that is positive risk assessment.

I see you didnt read a single thing there.

They've staved off the creditors by

1. Staying in the champions league by the skin of their teeth (we almost had them)

2. Selling off players (fabregas van persie)

Its now they've started to turn a corner but for the last two years it was touch and go. And then some.

But you're in denial.

Am I alone in being in a 'take it or leave it' mindset?

I'd love Lukaku to sign, but if he doesn't, it's not the end of the world. There are other strikers out there, equal to and better than Lukaku. Especially for the reported £20m it would cost.

I've never really been a fan of reluctant signees. If you've been at a club for a year, and we've made you feel really welcome and you've generally played well, if you don't want to jump at the chance of signing for Everton Football Club, then I'm not really arsed about you. You're clearly not really arsed about me, or the club I love. People panicking as if he's the only striker in the world we can sign.... Until deadline day last September, nobody even had a clue he was signing for us.

Whose better that we could get for similar money mate?

Who exactly are these better strikers we could get mate?

If Everton had gotten above them last May it may all of been so different. They were forced to spend and have been under massive pressure. Thats why Wenger looked like death.

Its a pressure Chelsea are now under under FFP. with Arsenal it was creditor pressure so slightly different. Arsenal had a pressure to keep the circus running whilst not spending. In the end they decided to spend.

If Everton had got above them they'd of been in major problems this summer

Last 2 years you say.......

So 2012 for example, when they made £36m profit, had £153m cash in the bank and the stadium debt at less than £100m and on along term mortgage.......

Yes, mate, they were on the brink lol

May I suggest that you go in search of a clue, as you appear to be missing one.....

Your numbers are false. They sold Van Persie to keep the creditors happy.

October 2012 their gross debt was £256million.

Not 100 million.

Nonsense from you.

The money you also talk about was earmarked. If they spent it the creditors may get nervous or object.

They actually had 42million in the bank. Non earmarked. That could be spent.

Very different to the fiction you present

I would expect Usmanov or Kroenke to probably pay the shortfall and use it as an opportunity to take further control of shares.

Thats not how public companies work.

You can't dilute the shares without the agreement of the existing shareholders. Who want their money back.
