Belgium seem to be pulling great strikers out of the bag - he is worth ago at 8million. Lukaku is out of our price range, as he be worth a lot more after the world cup.

Lets see how he does in the World Cup, for me I expect a top class stiker to have a good touch - his is not at that level where it needs to be a against top defenders. We will see.

Apologies for no left foot comment - thats relevant to me. I know he is left footed, just appears to have no right.

Did he bang your bird? you really don't like him.

Nah he's crap lets not bother.

No Evertonian would turn him down, not one. The point is when a City Chelsea UTD Liverpool Arsenal, spend 25 million, thats that done and dusted and move on to the next multi million transfer, If we spend 25 million on him that will be us done and dusted with permanent signings and that will only be if Chelsea allow us to pay it over a few years.

The stat above is fantastic, I would take him as that only transfer, but it just isn't going to happen, not a chance in hell.

I've just got a different means of assessing players - without a good touch he is never going to find the level that the rest of his attributes would warrant.

An outfield player with poor control under pressure is a liability - simple as that. Its all very well pointing out how great he is running at defenders with the ball on his left foot. Good defenders will find a way of limiting their impact and force them onto their weaker attributes.

He should be like Alan Shearer, able to operate in the box, hold up play bring others into the game. As it happens with his back to goal he condedes possession far too often.

Number of league goals before turning 21:
Messi - 57
Owen - 55
Rooney - 44
Shearer - 10

Lukaku - 65

First touch is irrelevant to me as long as the last touch is a goal, Lukaku's often is.

I'm pretty ceratin that in the west brom game he miscontrolled an easy pass on the half way line on build up to their equaliser. I just remember at the time going nuts, again in the southampton game Lovren just stayed touch tight and pretty much nicked everything off his feet pressuring him when he was receiving the ball and picking up the lose ball.

As stated, his goals do cover up a part of his game that is flawed. I'm all for signing him but not any where near £25m. £12m plus £7m in add ons is about right.

LOL.

Jelavic went for 7, mate.

Thats fair enough but unfortunately we aren't going to get a recognised Premier League goal scorer at that price and that is what he is. Anything up to £20 mill is a good deal and he has an awful lot of time on his side to work on his deficiencies.
Also this was really his first full year as a leading striker and there were times when you could see he needed a break but we had no back-up to be able to rest him. He will get better, I am certain of that.

33 of those goals were for Anderlecht where he was playing at 16 years and 11 days old - he played for them 73 times at the age of 17 years old in a league that is not strong - where physically he was matured.

In short those stats are not tangible, comparing someone who had scored those goals in a lower quality league to others who were scoring them in a better standard of league. If he scored 65 in an elite league like the premier league or spanish league then I would give those stats more credibility.

yep I know, Lukaku is potentially a £19m signing on that deal. The extra £7m is if we resign him, he scores x amount of goals, x amount of appearances.
But Jelavic is barely a professional footballer.

12 million is not the separation between Lukaku and Jelavic.

The market is skewed towards spending a load. Regardless of ones feelings toward Lukaku, he is a 25 million striker simply because he is young and scores goals in the Prem and that means someone would be willing to buy him for that price.
