bit odd like. 2 years ago, suarez was vilified for not being clinical. one season of actually being clinical and he's a more guaranteed scorer than ibrahimovic. not for me like

Well, two years ago I wouldn't have called him a guaranteed goalscorer. Times change, can't predict it. I said confidently on here Suarez would be found out after his first half a season; I was dead wrong.

A few seem to take his word as gospel so thought I'd share what he'd said. Never thought he came across as that trustworthy tbh, appears to change his opinion on what's happening based on what's being reported or whatever's the latest rumour on twitter.

I think we all saw enough of him last year to know he's not perfect. I remember how happy I was when we got him on deadline day last season though and the only tinge of regret was that if he did well we would never be able to buy him. He scored goals but his all round game was a bit disappointing at times. Still happy we are signing him though. Massive improvement compared to the type of strikers we have bought in the last 10 years.

think getting an ACM who can spot his runs and play through balls, unlike what ross does means he's 30+ potential. but let's think about that in a couple of years, ha

i can't remember what he did season before last, whether he was prolific or not, but not sure his 1 or 2 seasons of scoring goals puts him ahead of ibra regarding "guaranteed", that's all i was trying to say

He tweeted a few minutes later that he wasn't sure who Ian Atkins was so he must be quite new, the mans been in post since Moyes was around..THT can't be that ITK of what's going on at Everton if he doesn't know who the head of recruitment is.

I guess I just have a different definition of the word "guarantee". For me, goals in two seasons in counter attacking systems doesn't make him a guarantee - because if he was a proven guaranteed 20 goal a season striker, we wouldn't have a sniff because Chelsea would not let him go or Barca/Real Madrid would be in for him.

He could be that player, but he isn't guaranteed to be yet. He could go Jelavic on us easily in a certain system, we just don't know.

I never said he was guaranteed to score 20 goals a season though mate. What I did say is that he's a guaranteed goalscorer. You can claim the pseudo win if he only scores 16 next season again though.

Think it shows the confidence and self belief of the manager being able to look at winning trophies. Surely helps to convince them to sign on permanently.

yep, even though traore would only be a loan again you'd think.

but yeah, all the media kept saying everton will be weaker next season, because their vital players aren't theirs.

You know what, just read my posts again, it's now gone cyclical. Suffice to say I didn't say that, I said the system in 2013 was adapting so necessitated a quick outball to Lukaku while we adjusted to possession play under Martinez at the start of the season.

I'd never say they were never in the know, as they definitely where when they called Bilyaletdinov and so on, but they 100% are not now and haven't been for a long, long time.

Not sure how trustworthy you lot think he is but THT has been tweeting that Lukaku has made up his mind on moving to us permanently & Chelsea signing Drogba had a big influence in our favour..

No idea who THT is other than his online persona but surely those quotes show him up as full of rubbish. How on earth would anyone know what Lukaku is thinking and how many times he's changed his mind.
