The waiting for Rom could put us in a very tricky situation, if he or Chelsea say no, not much time to find a striker apart from some semi useless [Poor language removed] rather than a good bit of quality. LIverpool have backed out of the deal for Remy, word is something to do with his medical so you can forget him as well.

I am certain RM has a back up plan in case Chelsea say no, perhaps the Strac is waiting in the wings?

Also the Premier League restriction applies to professional contracted players.

The Everton accounts relate to Employees (this includes coaches and other staff).

Its possible under FFP and the Premier League rules to write off youth + community expenditure.

Man City pay £10million a season in their accounts on this. Everton don't break this up in our accounts to date.

But if our figures are including this into it we could actually be right on the £54m limit any and under no pressure.

I suspect that is what is going on here. No proof however.

Its funny however. We don't seem under any pressure.

From the published accounts you are right expenditure on youth development isn't split out we only know the total.

From any potential loss again you are right that you are given dispensation for expenditure on things like youth development etc .

Its not the bottom line I have ever had concerns about its the restriction around wage growth.

When the base line was established the starting wage figure will have been determined and that the same formula would be used in year 2 and 3 when arriving at the total spent in relation to those employees/players whose wages that have to be included in the calculations.

The huge growth in TV monies in reality should make a huge difference to the accounting bottom line and in relation to UEFA`s version of FFP I doubt that any English club will have too many issues but, because that wage cap complicates matters and those whose wage bill was already huge are yet again put in an advantaged position.

Well it creates an incentive for Mr Kenwright and Elstone to get out there and sign some commercial deals pronto.

Bottom line.

Since this is needed to continue the development of the club.

On the latter - those with huge wage caps. Not really, they're at bigger risk. If they drop out the Champions League they could end up with a hole in their accounts.

They then have to sign hyper inflated commercial deals that UEFA takes close look at against 'market rates'.

Get a double whamy effect.

Its a long term battle.

Everton just need to get more commercial sponsorship money in and get the stadium developed. Pronto.

This has been a long 48 hours.

Hence FFP/Premierleague / accounts discussion till he signs.

Only thing worth talking about until he signs.

Presuming Bill stays for the foreseeable, is FFP good for Everton?

ONLY if he takes on an 'investor' in the REAL sense of the word (not someone who just bungs money at player signings) who builds us a 60,000 stadium on Walton Hall Park at a equitable rate that doesn't take too much money out the club too quick or too long.

By mixed diluting his shareholding (equity stake) and financing.

FFP encourages that.

Limits "investment" to profit making infrastructure. Which is what investment actually is.

Lukaku to Everton. Yay or nay?

Personally, I think no always have! If we pull it of it's the best and biggest bit of transfer work I've seen Everton do in my life!

I just think Mrs Mourhino didn't raise any fools, while every other team in Europe has prob knows of his talent since he was 14!

Uphill task overall!

He won't be a better signing than Kanchelskis mate. He was an established top player for the best team in the country.

He will if he stays for 10 years and isn't pressured into a move after a couple of years by shall we say some questionable third parties, some murky stuff went down with him coming to us and leaving!

Oh yeah defo. Was akin to us getting David Silva today though. Which let's face it, we wouldn't stand a chance of doing for the foreseeable.

Be hard for Silva to get into our side with Ross mate lol!

All reports from Old Trafford were they floored by his transfer request and were in the midst of winning trophies galore, he was adamant he was moving - no one could make sense of it!

I still can't believe we signed him.

I remember the transfer going to arbitration, which I can't remember happening before or since. That in itself was weird, let alone the fact that he left high-flying United to join us.
