The long term spine of our team is now Stones, Besic, McCarthy, Barkley and Lukaku. For a total of about £50m.

I'd rather we took the gamble at £28m than missed out by not budging over £20m though.

I think we have been spoilled a bit with bargains inthe last few yrs. This time we have had to pay a players worth but we han't over-payed ; he will score more than 15 goals this season.

We have the best young midfielder in the world for that.

All we need now in terms of a priority is a replacement for Deulofeu (Atsu maybe) and perhaps Traore on loan. Our squad is looking phenomenal.

Write down a first eleven with a bench and note the four or five quality players who don't even make the bench like Gibson.

Well over-priced for where he's at in his development and potential. I just don't see him as ever being worth £28 million.

Even at the rumoured £24 million, I was umming & arring. Got to trust Mr Martinez, I suppose.....

Id take Romu over Luke Shaw any day of the week. I know what you're saying, but, for me, this is a quality signing and the sort of player we have been crying out for.
