But he wasn't given a fair crack of the whip to change that status at Chelsea.

The lad has shown he can slot and destroy teams with his strength at the age of 21. If you look at the last couple of years, he is a proven premier league goalscorer. He is no where near his ceiling and so the figure being reported, in the current pricing of players, is a bargain.

I'm not looking for an argument mate, just personally felt he could have been gotten cheaper, but I'm not going to squabble about any fee under £30m. I just can't call it great business, like a Mirallas for £6m or Coleman/Stones.

Not that I'm currently arsed in the slightest about it being great business financially - it's great business on the pitch and in terms of showing intent, and that's worth the fee all day long.

I'm surprised that we've paid more than was estimated and that we've announced the transfer fee. We couldn't walk away from the deal though. He's exactly what we need and it's great to see so many exciting, young talents among our ranks including Stones, Besic and Barkley.
