Don't forget his assists he got last year.

15 goals and 6 assists. So he contributed 21 goals last season. If he can do that again this season I'll be over the moon.

Everyone is forgetting he's only 21. Yes £28m might have been an overpayment if he were 25-27 years old and not going to develop further. (Although spurs paid near thst for soldado) He is 21 ffs, nowhere near the finished article. He could become one of the best strikers in the world if his development goes right, £28m for that potential is a snip. His attitude is fantastic and he's desperate to improve.

Love the way the majority of Chelsea fans are saying he isn't all that and has an attitude problem. They daren't say anything against Mourinho ever.

It's easy to turn on players after they leave, and criticism of his attitude will have stemmed from his issues with the Belgian coach at the
World Cup. Nothing to do with Chelsea or Everton.

£28 million is really not a bad price.

How much would you want for Ross? Or Stones?

Lukaku's potential may not be quite as high but it's up there and he's a striker. A striker that scores loads of goals in the Premier League. And he's 21.

The Chelsea fans I've run into over here have been insufferable. On Tuesday they were happy that our presser was "only for Ross" because they still had hope for Rom sticking. By yesterday they were happy to push him out the door because "he doesn't want to fight for the first team." Comical really.

WOW !

considering how much the RS paid for Carroll

this is a bargain
Lets not compare prices of other players and what other teams have paid. We don't have to justify the price we paid for Lukaku by comparing. We identified him as our # 1 target and our manager see's him as an essential part of what we're trying to do here.

The way we played last season was a statement to not only the rest of the premier league, but to the rest of europe who were also watching. The way we have secured the contracts of our best players was another statement. The signing of Besic and more importantly Lukaku, was a further statement.

These statements have put us back into the spotlight. We're being talked about and long term we will reap the benefits of this.
