Naismith and Lukaku linked up well tonight imo, it is usually Lukaku setting up Naismith at the expense of his own game but felt there was a bit more balance tonight.

Roms touch was excellent last night, wonderful flicks and cushioned passes. Loved it.

How bad an offside call was that that stopped Lukaku in the second half? Just seen it on the OS - he was about 3-4 yards onside. When linesmen get straightforward decisions as badly wrong as that you'd like to think they'd get struck off the officiating lists. Truly awful. Thank God it didn't matter in this instance.

PL Clubs were forced to install goalline technology. Offsides could just as easily be decided in real time by someone sat in the stands watching a TV screen that has that SkyTV-type line across it marking the last man and the most relevant attacker. No stoppages required, just a green or a red light visible to all controlled by the TV ref. Incorrect, often critical, offside calls occur several times in virtually every game, compared to the once a season 'was it over the line' instances. I know what I think all that money should have been spent on.

I wouldn't go as far as that. He's a £28m player and has a long way to go to justify that fee, granted its not his choice but for me he has a lot to do.

I hope he really does become a 20+ striker, but there is much of his game that needs to improve. Signs tonight were good but let's not get carried away, lille were shocking.

They even made £2m perennial boo boy McGeady look like he knew how to kick a ball. even though he can.

I think that was the same pattern again last night. I didn't see much balance there in the way you say.

There is no question Lukaku prefers playing as a lone striker with the responsibility to get the goals. Lukaku is turning out at this stage to be the most expensive secondary forward in PL history.

The goal attempt in the first minute the result of Osman passing to Naismith who did a lovely layoff to Lukaku whose shot the keeper unfortunately saved. I saw a few of those interactions, not claiming the balance was perfect but do think it is improving.

Seriously though, Rom was fantastic last night.... Pulled their defence around all night.... A lot of his impressive stuff was his clever movement off the ball which goes unnoticed by most.... Intelligent movement opening up spaces for others.
