Lukaku

did he? he played 10 games in total for chelsea, he was barely ever there at the club.

He trained with the first team for a year before joining West Brom. Along with his so called video watching he should be able to grasp the concept of trapping a ball and using his body to protect it. Its infancy stuff mate

Are we trying to make Lukaku into something he is not i.e. a back to goal player - we are so slow going forwards it is untrue and long punts to his head with no one near him was ridiculous, just like playing eto in central midfield today - a poor team performance, and Lukaku still managed to smash one against the post - not his best game reflecting in a bog standard out of position team selection yet again by RM!

I have to keep reminding myself that his career goal record is very good for his age, otherwise the fact I can't stand watching this cabbage play football would rise to the surface and force me to say mean things about him.

Why doesn't he hold the ball up by shielding with his back to it and using gravity and strength to dig into the ground, hold onto the ball.. then pick a pass. Why always a snap decision lay off back to midfield or sometimes defence! Or often the opponent!

i think the lay offs are too entice quicker attacks and i'm all for it tbh. if you watch city and chelsea's attacks, they move this quaick one touch passing around the outside of the box with runners running into the stride of the path.

it worked vs lille and worked brilliantly today at the start when he linked up with eto'o.

people have been moaning our attacks are too slow and they're right. having our striker trapping the ball, taking another touch to look up and then another touch as a pass will not solve that problem.

He really does look like an abysmal footballer at times, conference standard.

But as Carlito says, his goal stats don't lie and that alone is getting him out of jail at the moment.

But I said this the other day, he looks a totally different player to the one we saw at West Brom and early last season.

Yes he's always looked raw, but he could always produce a bit of magic and win a game on his own with a burst of pace and a deadly piece of play that would make you say WOW.

Now he looks heavy, laboured, lazy and disinterested and he definitely looks like he's lost a yard of pace.

That spark is missing and its a bit worrying TBH after spending 28 million big ones on him.

Wasted his one on one today and was generally very poor. Then again we insist on playing this awful brand of slow dirge like football, any striker would get bored and Bobby is continuing in the classic Everton tradition of playing football that ruins good strikers.

Sky generation...
