Pretty sure he wants to stay there. Chelsea are showing him the door.
He wants to start there. And he's mouthy about it.

Take McCarthy as the example. When he was young he turned down a move to a Prem club so he could get regular gametime at Hamilton. He turned down the money in favor of development. Smart move for young players.

I suspect Lukaku is of the same mindset. He'll be looking to maximize his paycheck when be hits his prime, which requires minutes and development

Deluded is the wrong choice of word, Other than dortmund and Athletico who is else that are potentially interested in him are better than Everton Liverpool, Manchester city and Manchester united already have established strikers so he can't compete for a place there. Would chelsea sell to arsenal? I imagine he would choose Everton over spurs so in my opinion we are his first choice premier league team, It's whether he would want to move to Italy or Spain where he will need to Learn a new language adapt to the culture. To say it's deluded that a player who played for us last season might want to play for us again this season is just misguided.
My point is aimed more towards our board paying 25 million on one player, it aint happening. We should all know better by now, the last 2 times we have spent big Felli and Macarthy, we had to wait until the last minute, or another way of putting in we had to wait until we flogged enough players so we could afford it. People will mention TV money but i just dont see a day when the board will sanction such a large percentage of our kitty in one hit

Dont think he will come back here and even if he did suspect if he had a decent season would want to be off the first time a so called bigger club came knocking.
Shame really as he is a good player and only going to get better. time to say thanks and move on for both player and the club and stop the cock teasing in the press .

He wants to start for Chelsea - that's not gonna happen.
He's stated he doesn't want to go out on loan again.
CL teams - Barca, Real, PSG, Monaco, Dortmund, Bayern, City & Liverpool already have 1st choice forwards and Italian clubs are always skint!
That leaves Atletico, Spurs, Arsenal and Everton.
Chelsea would be loathe to sell to Spurs/Arsenal.
Atletico's team is getting picked apart something ruthless.

I honestly believe we are the best option for him. We'd be lucky to have each other!

It's all speculation about Atletico though, they're bound to lose Diego Costa but if they can replace him with Lukaku and a few quid then their in a much better state with guaranteed Champions League-football next year. They're bound to attract some talent even if they lose Felipe Luis and/or Miranda, Juanfran etc. And it looks like their board has a decent knack for picking out talent as well.

I'd love it if Lukaku returned, but I think for him personally it'd make sense to go to Atletico if he wants CL-football next year. He'll be guaranteed to start as much as he wants and I can see him fitting into what they're playing.

Madrid or Liverpool....its a tough choice!!!

Yeah he sounds desperate to join them:
Lukaku was quoted as saying in the Evening Standard "I have a contract with Chelsea after this summer and I am not focusing on any move to Atletico."
But when he talks about Bobby's magical blues...
"Let me say that I am now the complete striker. I never thought I was a target man, a number nine who could play with his back to the goal. I always wanted to run at defenders. That is still a great quality, but now I can do both. I love playing as a real striker in the box now."

"I have been playing all season for a team (Everton) which has more than 60 percent of the time possession of the ball. Technically, I have been improving as a player. My concentration is better than ever on finishing, rather than on running with the ball. I am absolutely convinced that moving to Everton was the best step in my career. When you feel everything is working out, it makes you so relaxed and happy as a player in big matches."
Reading between the lines, this is on to the fullest. Cmon the Rom

I said many pages back that we would not see him in an Everton shirt. The recent events/statements now confirm that. Time for us to move on.
