no lad he's pants, should get rid this summer
get someone in who runs around a lot and isn't so lazy
did you know he cost 28 million??
Don't talk daft.
After years of straq, beattie and jelavic we finally get a top class striker and you want rid after a few bad games hang your head in shame

This business about him going to be "one of the best strikers in Europe".

I just don't see it.

He can be very good on his day but those days just don't come often enough.

To me, the whole Lukaku conundrum was summed up today with that header down The Street.

FFS a centre forward who can't head a ball for toffee is only half a centre forward.
He is still only young and learning the trade.
He is going to get 20 goals this season and he has been managed poorly and played out of position quite a lot.
Yes we have had an awful season by our standards but rom will be a top player in a few years

This is the part I just can't get on board with. The way some people talk, you'd think we were lucky to have him.

Top players can do the basics properly.

From the echo: "Lukaku turns 22 next week, and could have 20 goals in a season, both home and abroad. Thierry Henry and Alan Shearer were also both 22 when they hit 20 for the first time, while Wayne Rooney was approaching that age when hitting that target. Andy Cole, meanwhile, had just turned 23. Those four make up five of the all-time leading Premier League goalscorers."

I would take whatever we got him for and wish him all the best.

.....we'll have no players left. I think there is a difference watching players week in, week out and just seeing highlights of them scoring goals. When they play for your team you see warts and all. I wouldn't want to sell Lukaku, his goal return is ok, although I appreciate he hasn't scored many from open play for a while.

this, he has been a bit crap this season, but so has everyone. he's been crap and scored 20 goals - which at his age is even more impressive - why are people so insistent on selling him because of the first baddish season in his entire career? does anyone really think we can attract anyone with such a high reputation?

This is the bit that concerns,I appreciate the posters who keep saying he's only 21,but if you can't consistently get the ball under control by that age, will you ever?
He definitely looks like someone who was able to get by on size as a youth player, and just barged the other kids out of the way without worrying too much about skill or technique.

I honestly don't think I'm someone who puts unrealistic expectations on the players, and I'm surprised that others aren't more concerned about Lukaku's all round game. More often than not I walk out of the ground thinking that he looked like someone who only started playing twelve months ago.
