Lukaku's Everton Frustration

Gaba had a terrible record at Napoli and no one could have expected what he has done so far.

Perez left a contract just waiting to be signed in a hotel in Monaco to go to arsenal (fair enough)

Sissoko also mugged us off.

I get what rom says BUT players have to want to come here and last summer we were an 11th placed team with big ambition and a new manager with a lot of potential. The players we got were excited by this and so was rom or he would have left if he truly believed these things.

I don't get why he says this now, what does he hope to achieve? Nothing can change until the summer.

I'm pretty pissed off at the timing and I smell excuses.

Also, our best chance of a final in years was the semi against Utd where he did totally bottle it and yes he scored the goals to get us there but he is the striker and he was given the service that day he just didn't take his chances.

I see no way back now. Bye rom.

I'd rather he left on good terms. We all know his ambition is to play Champions League football and good luck to him but please don't start antagonising people just to make sure you force through a move.

This is kind of depressing, as the team is doing well at the moment and this kind of talk from a key player is likely to be pretty deflating to team spirit, I'd have thought. Can't say I disagree with anything the lad has said though, enough of us on here have said similar.

I most likely don't have a clue what really goes on though.

To be fair, it's hard to argue with anything he's said. He's impressed me this season, both with his obvious performances on the pitch, but also the way he's behaved off it, whether it's getting involved in our community work or mentoring the younger players. His comments here smack of a player who does get the club, but is frustrated at the pace of progress.

It's not necessarily what he says its when he's said it that stinks for me. If we weren't so reliant on him I'd like to see him dropped on Saturday. Sad.
I agree with most of what he said but you are right...the timing is ridiculous. This could be our time to try and push top 4, Get into europe....win europa...whatever. We have 10 games left. Shutty till then Looooo !!

Do you think he will sign the new contract or is definiately leaving this summer mate?

Lol. that's silly.

He's become our top goalscorer. What more can he do?
At the risk of annoying Sky and Rom - you can't abolish history ... DIXIE is our top scorer, followed by Graeme Sharp and half a dozen others. THAT'S how you get remembered. I'd have to sit and look at a book if I wanted to remember what trophies they won.

Obviously I want us to win stuff too, but this modern lot if mercenaries seem to have forgotten that it's the taking part that counts.

What he says rings true, if he actually means it though is up for debate.

Good PR for him personally as it will have a lot of the fans on his side now rather than on his back, is what he is saying really heartfelt though, or is it more just spin to try to make his wanted exit easier?

Ultimately he's talked about doing his best the last ten games and us going for it in big games. Let's see if we do and if the team finally show up at the pit...

If we don't have a huge positive spend this summer, with or without him leaving though, then ultimately whatever his motives for saying what he has then his words will be proven true.

Interesting few months upcoming.

Be funny if Koeman gave him the captaincy after this though as it'd be an acknowledgement that he agrees with what he said.

Sorry, I can' t find anything wrong with his comments rather than with the timing of it maybe. We claim to be massively ambitious, but what did we really do in the past year that actually proves it? Last summer was extremely underwhelming in the transfer market and January wasn't the right time in the market. One year on and our best option after Lukaku is a 19 year old that was playing at League One level last season.

Don't think.his comments were disrespectful at all, seems that he is just dissapointed in the level of progress.

In reflection, what and when he's said it doesn't bother me now, what effect will it have, we go the pit, old Trafford and the Emirates and bottle job it? We do that anyway, more chance of get to g a result after what he's just said as may make a few find their balls and finally show up, hell he's stuck the pressure on himself for those games as well.

As for say I g things about the transfer Windows, if it was said in the summer it'd be too late, the spotlight is on during the season, and saying that during g the break would be used as the reason why we struggled again nice and conveniently as it would be said to have undermined us.

Big decisions and big summer for Moshiri upcoming, and one where occasionally leaked tweets about the stadium won't be enough
