Lukaku's Everton Frustration

He is right to point fingers at the board because we sign Gabbiadini to partner him and that colossal lull we had in the middle of the season might have never happened. Having said that, Lukaku is using this as an excuse to buy himself time to make a decision. He has the devil (Ravioli) on his shoulder, so his future at Everton is very unlikely with this guy around. Whatever happens happens I suppose.

I'm glad he's outed the board. We all knew there are players we have missed out on due to incompetence

However after Roms comments how on earth can he sign a deal now. He's more or less stated he doesn't want to be here and we lack the ability to sign top players

How can he now sign a deal once he's said all that?

(By the way he is clearly talking about Giabadinni for one)

It's very reminiscent of what Rooney did at utd a few years ago. He went on to sign a new deal. We just need to show ambition, and by ambition I mean spend some serious wonga on top drawer players.

"Sometimes I speak to Vincent Kompany, who was at Manchester City when it all happened. He said, 'Rom, one summer I just came in and boom, boom, boom… Robinho from there, this guy came in, this guy came in'.

Everyone was criticising them but, at the end, there are two league titles, FA Cup here, League Cups there. That is what we want as players."

Romelu Lukaku
Expecting us to be sitting where City are right now, after 1 season of signing multiple decent players at a time, is unrealistic. It took City 3 seasons to win something and the squad that won the Cup only had 2 players that were there before the spending spree. PSG spent a ton and lost the league to Montpellier in their first go. I want the club to go after trophies just like everyone else but I can't help but feel Rom is trying to bring the masses to his side while his agent continues maneuvering behind the scenes. Hopefully it wakes the board up too but I don't think there is anything we can reasonably do to get him to stay here past the next two years of his contract.

yeah but...

the truth is hard to hear for many, no matter how clear it seems. Rom may play for Belgium, but he seems to be from Missouri to me.

Our football fantasy must wear an Everton badge. His football fantasy must include Romelu Lukaku playing in the Champions League.

Cobble together a Venn diagram and see what you get out of this. You must "show him" before you sign him, gentlemen.

Those words aren't his about history that is something that he has heard, probably from Koeman. As someone who wasn't a fan when Everton were winning trophies I want us to win stuff during my fanship.

My issue is that he seems to want to go somewhere that is going to win with or without his help. It is understandable to want to play for a winner but I respect those who build winning organizations not those who are a piece of an established organization.

Look at RVP, went to Man U. won a title and they will never sing his name again.

The interview was not as bad as first thought. David Prentice what a tool.

Gabbadini and Depay were they the players that we could have got?

So Lukaku questioned the board's ambition, rightly so. Whether he will sign or stay will depend on the quality of players we are getting in the summer. Still I won't say these stuff with 10 games to go if I am him.

Indeed.

Very few people are disagreeing with what he said.

It is the fact he said it with quarter of the season still to play and EFC making ground on some faltering contenders in the places above us that has incensed so many of us.

Gabbiadini
Keane
Lucas
Sissoko

Others?

Hard to argue with anything he said, per se, but it comes across to me as putting the excuses in place for why he wants away well before the off0season.

When Moshiri sent that text to Jim White, everyone was saying " Moshiri has this, he is an astute business man " I've no doubt he is and is brilliant in the boardroom.

But Raiola has took the fight from the boardroom out in the open world of PR and the media. These are his actions and words being done via Rom now, divide and conquer and put the blame back on the club.
