Lukaku's Everton Frustration

Well you could condone it based on it being factually correct.

That's not the issue though. He's made these comments at this moment for a very specific reason.

Raiola tried to pressure the board into concessions by going public with the contract situation. Rom wanted the security blanket of one more season on increased wages in case the bigger clubs had no interest in him this summer for his price tag, and with a release clause involved. I believe Everton haven't wanted a release clause as low as Raiola/Lukaku did, so Raiola has leaked the news that the contract is a no-go, and wheeled out Lukaku to denigrate the club for not meeting his ambitions.

I'm '99.9999%' sure that's the case. And usually I'd say it's fantastic agent work and the player should be happy his man is doing his job.

However, if Moshiri is astute and has the money he says he does to invest, then do something that would be more valuable to our long term ambitions than spending £100m on a player in the summer - bin Lukaku to the reserves, set the asking price and not a penny under, and be prepared to let him sit out the rest of his contract.

See who blinks first.

That's great - and then we lose our top scorer with a choice of either Valencia or Kone to pick up the defecit - meanwhile show every player present and potential that Everton will drop you if you don't tow the party rhetoric and stfu.

Here's a thought - why not match his ambition and buy and coach other talented players that pushes Lukaku to perform even better, till you're at a point you're outperforming your rivals and winning trophies.

The only issue I have with Lukaku is i was forced to click on a link from that rag called the Liverpool Fc echo. Don't know about how you all feel but I think that paper should be banned from this site.In fact I demand it.

:coffee:

We all agree or should agree we have done poor in the last two windows. Well incomings at least. Even the two players we brought in seem to take a age to sign. Kenwright acts as if it's his own money we are spending.
We have been lucky Lukaku didn't get injured this season. Not bringing in backup was surprising. We need a massive summer. I'm looking forward to what koeman has to say tomorrow when he is asked about the clubs ambition

Ha, a worse online rag I've yet to find.
Bloody adverts make it unreadable for me.

He's already questioned it, I assume he'll agree.

I do think some patience was required and Moshiri A. Isn't in the same financial league as the City owners B. Hampered by FFP and so on which City weren't in the early days and have since toned down their spending.

Haven't been on the forum in a long ass time and forgot my login info. Honestly I'm not bothered by the whole situation as it's mostly a bunch of media whores that care nothing but getting clicks on a site by taking one little thing and blowing it out of proportion. I think his statements here show not that he wants to leave right now or that he doesn't want to sign the contract. I think he's saying it more of a warning that unless we don't start to bring in people who will push the team to Europe then he will be forced to move on to better himself. Personally I think he'll put off the contract signing till he sees if 1) We are able to make it this season if the teams above us falter and we keep our form or 2) We show a clean sign of intent this summer in bring in quality signings.

This is all contractual maneuvering, disgusting as it is, as it once again shows lukaku values himself above the club, and his teammates and fans combined.

I'm not disagreeing with anything he said, and I sure as hell don't blame him for feeling the way he does....

But if he cared about us or the club this could have waited till the seasons end.

Hopefully the silver lining of this will be that it lights a fire under management for this transfer window and we start spending some cheddar.
