Depends on highly you rate him. Personally think he is easily good enough to start for quite a lot of PL teams, his free kicks alone would be valuable especially for a team that relied a lot on set pieces.

His defensive positioning needs work but the best chance for him to develop that is to play regularly. Despite it he did well against De Bruyne and Perisic away at Wolfsburg and they are both very good players.

It still is like was Davek said though. We're spoilt at left back really. He's unfortunate to be behind one of the best in the league in Baines and an international who has easily filled in and performed almost to Baines' level in Oviedo.

The lad has real potential though. His crosses and set pieces are fantastic. Gonna be a crying shame losing him for nothing. If he ends up somewhere he'll be first choice, he'll be straight in my fantasy team for the assists he will get.

Oh, agree that we are spoilt at LB, tbh think we take all our fullbacks a bit too much for granted especially given how much they add to our attacking threat. Just don't think the quality is as good in most other PL teams so Luke could find a place where he would get the regular football which he needs.

Ideal would be if he signed a contract and went out on loan but it is looking unlikely.

Ryan Taylor had the same at his age. Player need more than that...and if that goes...

But as mentioned, if he doesn't feel like he can get through or wants to stay then I won't lose sleep over him.

Im absolutely sure Martinez regognizes Garbutts potential. dont think for a second that he wouldnt be appreciated here...or that he would be glued to the bench.

If he doesnt sign it is solely because of that he's a tit.
Talking about him going to RS....BS. Why would he go there IF only thing he's after if playing time.

MAKE UP YER MIND LUKE

-YER DAR

play him now we're safe - lull into false sense of security, signs contract ... back on bench. harsh but makes business sense. if he wants to leave next year then we get a fee/gives us longer to see if he's up to the grade.

Ryan Taylor - Pah. This kid has the best left foot in the Everton squad. His ability to both pick, and deliver a cross, is outstanding.

Vault me, he's gonna get loads of assists at a very good level this wooly Luke.

Losing him for nothing..... It's gonna seem ridiculous in two years. Vault me again....
