Not really people on here make the lad into the Evertonian Stevie g la who shall not be dropped. He's been nowhere near the Baines of previous seasons and the past few months hasn't been anywhere near stand out to warrant an instant place in the starting 11.

For me we should be using these last few games to start blending the youth into the side, the likes of Barry, Baines and possibly Howard should be given time on the bench for the likes of Besic, Garbutt and Robles to show what they can do. Otherwise what's the point especially if we have little cash to splash in the summer window.

Your opinion. Those who "StevieGla-fy" him are entitled to theirs'. I think he's a class act personally.

Agree with the view that baines plays regardless of his form when maybe he should be droppable like anyone else.

But then again Garbutt is a gay little judas tit so he can Koff

Agree pal but how is Garbutt a judas? I've seen this opinion of him alot but from what I've read it's a lad who is not getting any older and wants to play first team football.

I find it funny how Lukaku was ambitious for leaving Chelski to get first team football yet Garbutt is one of ours so he's the devil for simply wanting the same.

We have seen first hand how players over 30 can suddenly drop form, namely Barry and Distin this season, Baines isn't getting any younger and hasn't been in best form, and theirs no guarantees oviedo will return the same player from his injury, I wouldn't personally risk losing a talented young English player for free or a few mil compo when he's shown alot of promise. His performance away at wolfsburg was fantastic against a very strong side.

I'm not saying get rid of baines but the problem is if we lose garbutt and Oviedo what do we in 2/3 years when he needs replacing
He frustrated Me today with his corners trying to chip them in

Fizz a few in for [Poor language removed] sake

We no longer have a manager who is arsed about the future, he is very much about the present

Are we likely to lose Oviedo as well? If both him and Garbutt go then yes we'll have to look at replacing one of them but unless they both go this summer then that is likely a problem to be addressed in another window. There are a couple of decent fullbacks in the academy - Callum Connelly for instance has been playing that role in the same England team that Ledson and Kenny play in.

Iirc Baines was pretty good at his corners in the last game against S'ton, didn't Jags goal come from a Baines corner?

But all the reports are we've offered him a contract. What else would you have him do if he genuinely thinks Baines and Oviedo are better?
Not sure, but nor am I paid to be, If we have a highly rated Kid, who is about to sign for Liverpool whilst we are having our most miserable season in a decade then questions need to be asked

Are you going to ask those questions taking into account we have two good players in that position already, and possibly more in the academy, or are those points immaterial?

If we are to build for the future then surely we need to keep Garbutt. It appears though it is down to the player if a contract is truly on the table. Cannot recall any thing official off hand to confirm that, does anyone know for sure?

Funny isnt it tho, here we are, we have the best Left Back in World Football, Luke Garbutt, in the last few weeks of his contract and theres not a SINGLE story in any newspaper linking any other club to him.

Weird that like, its almost like hes, yano, maybe not all that.

Lukaku went to West Brom and proved himself on loan. Totally different.
