Yes or No? Do you agree that it would/could/is beneficial for him to stay?
Me?

Personally think Garbutt is good already and could turn out to be very good. Would love him to stay but he needs game time and unless he is happy going out on loan then the only way we could give him a decent amount is selling one of Baines or Oviedo. Rate both of them as well so difficult choice, given the other potential in the academy would reluctantly choose to let Luke go rather than Baines/Oviedo. Real pity neither him or Oviedo is a right back, we'd be sorted for years.

But thankfully not my decision!

“He’s still developing but when you see him perform as assured and composed as he did last night it shows he has no fear to compete against anyone for his competition. That’s what we want.

“I do feel that a player like Luke is going to stay with us for the long term. But my only concern now is to look to see Luke fighting for his place.”

Ideally i would like him to prove himself by going out on loan to another pl club next season, but i don't think it'll happen, he'll probably just sign for some mid-table club in the summer, and ruin his career there, but it's what you get for leaving Everton, ask Dan Gosling

Garbutt is good but let's not get carried away. He probably will turn out to be a cracking LB but whilst Baines is still at the club he's not gonna get a serious look in. He might get cup games next season if he stays but he won't properly dislodge Baines out of the team for atleast another 2 years, and is he willing to re-sign and wait for a real chance for that long? Probably not!

I think he'll leave in the summer for a chance of regular games and they'll be a few lower placed prem clubs interested and plenty of championship clubs in for him aswell.
