Remember how players read this forum sometimes?

I doubt Luke would want to sign a new contract after reading the last ten pages in this thread...

(then again, it hasn't got Alcaraz to f off)

Footballers can read? Not having it.

Do footballers really care what the fans think? I don't think so.

....mmmmm, suspect the £1m plus signing fee, doubling of wages and guarantee of first team football will influence his decision more than anything said on these pages.

Really?

Shame that there isn't a guarantee of first team football then.

......You can only select X1, unfortunately that means you can't guarantee everybody in the squad a game. We will acquire players via a Bosman and we will lose players via a Bosman, it's the way it is.

We are mad if we let him go. He's got the potential to be as good as Baines if he works for it. Really don't understand why we wouldn't keep him, unless there's been some sort of disagreement about something or he's demanding things? But he doesn't seem like that type..

Not up to us, his decision at the end of the day. All we can do is offer what we think is a fair contract

The lads been offered a very good contract for a back up left back with limited experience in the Premier League. Up to him, not us.

There is that. And if he wants to go then let him. A shame though given his potential, but surely we can make an agreement?

He must be able to see it's Baines keeping him out the side and not some average everyday left back...

In which case, let him go. If he doesn't want to fight to get in the side then he doesn't deserve to be in.

Really hope he stays though...

Does seem odd to me as the kid has so much potential....would have loved to see us give him a 5 year contract, then loan him out for a couple of years, so he gets his first team football experience and we get a better left back in a couple of seasons time....

Jose Baxter had potential too - according to someone. Never heard it from David Moyes though, likewise never heard that Garbutt is the next best thing from Martinez either. Fan speculation that's all. Not suggesting that Garbutt is a beak freak though.
