Try to keep him, or let him leave ?

Obviously focus on the present but always an eye to the future - if Garbutt is as good as people hope or think, you want to keep him on your squad. Or if he's easily replaceable (let me know how many good LBs are out there that we can easily replace) then let him go.

But its not 100% up to the club.

Read someone's post over at the Peoples Forum that the heavy rumour is he will re-sign after the change in agents is complete. Any truth in a change of agent or just more fluff?

My thoughts now are give him a good contract and sign him. Good investment for a good young player. If he goes best of luck to him !

The contract we've offered him is very good. Especially for someone whos got no more than 10 appearances for us and would be considered 2nd/3rd choice.

It's all speculation mate. Your guess is as good as anyone else's.

Every article on the official site that includes garbutt lately mentions he has been offered a new contract
If we didn't we wouldn't get any compensation. The missing info is how good a contract it is and how that stacks up with others who want to sign him.

Since he hasn't got a precontract elsewhere sorted by now think he's sensibly leaving it until after the U21 competition so his focus isn't affected like sterling.

If Luke continues to put in MOTM performaces he'll have some good rival offers and if he gets injured/performs poorly he still has the Everton one which apparently is a good one.

Can only hope he signs the contract he's been offered, what sort of sh!thouses are we, offering a decent youngster with minimal experience a good contract?

This is utter madness.
