Great performance - I thought his delivery on corners was brilliant. Reminded me of the deliveries Andy Hinchcliffe used to do for us.

I'm not sure whether they've spelt Lukes surname right, but I'd still pick him alongside Hibbert and Stones and if we could only coax Yobo to come back to us, I feel sure we'd be a real threat in the Conference. I am surprised that none of you lads commented on the skills of the 3 Spurs
substitutes on the same night, not to mention how classy the stewards were who followed them on.

Fantastic performance and arguably ahead of oviedo now. I wonder if Martinez rested him on saturday following the two England games?

I think that will have played some part in it. I think too that Bobby was always going to rest Seamus for Thursday so would not be surprised if he wanted Tony in for last Saturday knowing he was going to play Kev (work rate/lack off fitness) and protect Luke knowing he is going to be playing Thursday.

I thought his passing was good and I'm pleased with his performance but I would have liked to see him close down wingers better than he did or at least have someone point out to him to close them down.

well that ends all tactical debate, we can never improve on beating west ham at home, lets pick that team every week no matter how poor a decision it was, and how lucky we were to get away with it

The decision to play Hibbert was correct, and not because of the result. You could say we were lucky to get away with it if Hibbert played bad but Howard saved the day, and Tony didnt let us down.

Fans can just look at the 90 minutes on the pitch but Roberto has go deeper than that. Not just with one eye on Thursday night but with the way West Ham set up he will of known that whoever he picked was going to be asked to do a lot of work, something Garbutt isnt experienced enough for but Tony is, and Roberto knows this.

In the summer plenty questioned the new contract for Hibbert, but the amount of games he has had to play this season has shown that it was the right one.

For me, this is spot on. Hibbert isn't a sexy footballer in the likes of Baines and Coleman.

What he is, is a no-nonsense defender. And an average one at that. Nothing special, but a great squad player to have in the squad.

Also, he bleeds Everton. What's not to like?
