Hope luke stays he is a good deputy for baines , maybe get a game today due to 2 games in 2 days. If anyone thinks he is ready to take over from baines watch the france v England u21 game from a few months ago and you will maybe see the reason RM hasn't played him more this season.

Baines was the best left back in the world people claimed on this forum not too long ago.

Now we want a kid who has played a few senior games to replace him.

Hmmmmmmm fickle is not the correct word.

You miss the point.

If Baines is playing well then there is no way that Garbutt should be picked ahead of him.

The problem is that RM picks Baines regardless of how well he is playing and even when Baines is unfit he picks Hibbo ahead of Luke.

What message does that send out?

Th point is that we could be resting Baines which would give Garbutt minutes and keep Baines fresh more than likely also extending his career.

If we where challenging for 4th and every game mattered then I could understand the argument not to and agree with it but the league season is over. We should be focusing on keeping everyone fit and fresh for Europa and the cups.

Tbh i think baines has been playing ok, thought he was our best player v stoke.

Wouldn't mind seeing how he faired ahead of garbutt/oviedo. I think technically he is goid enough to play there ...if it's good enough for bale...

Would be disappointed if Garbutt left at the end of the season the lad has ability. But I do agree with what someone has already mentioned in that if he was in the side he'd have the same problem as Baines has. There's nobody in front of him to link up with!!

The most complacent post ever. Forget the supposed talent in the team. We're short in the other principal components that make a good team -- organisation and spirit. And if we get even closer to the bottom 3 the second of these could be a fatal shortcoming.

So what did he do today? I didn't see most of the game. Can anyone post a video/describe me what he did?

Thanks a lot!
