Celtic are preparing a contract offer in January and with them being in a different country the compensation would be minimal and they will offer a decent signing on fee with 25k per week wages with the money they save from not having to pay a transfer fee.

Another farce from this manager, numerous have signed deals at Everton in the past 18 months including Barry (who was offered 36 more monthly paycheques) and this talented kid who Everton have put a lot into since we spotted and then took from Leeds is now about to walk away.

I'd love to see Baines dropped for this kid, that way I'd rest easy knowing that Baines hair (when sat on the bench) simply will not fall out of place and he won't have to toy with it via a head flick or a palm through whilst the secondary issue of Everton playing, is 'going on'

Oh look, another thread where people make up the scenario behind the scenes at the club and then fume based on what they' ve just made up..... ;)

Could be maaaany reasons why he has not signed up yet. I wonder why people go searching for the most negative one...

Well, I cant think of one which makes any sense.

Player wants guaranteed starts. Rarely going to be given.

Agent looking for much more than we are willing to give. Happens all the time. Moneywise or length of contract.

Neither party in a great hurry, and know the deal will be done and the player is going nowhere.

Then all the scenarios which make the boss or board look bad, which are the only ones I am seeing mentioned.

I'm no expert but theres lots of ins and outs to these situation. Somebody more in the know would be able to advise. It's not a given that a player in the last few months of his contract will leave.

He should be getting guaranteed starts and a decent contract looking at some of the players whove been mollycoddled.

Reallt poor not to play him and sign him long term.

Its not really poor though, is it? It is in your world of throw the youngsters into the team....you are overly biased in that regard in fairness zat.

Its nothing out of the ordinary to see Baines keep his place over Garbutt. I think this decision would be made by the vast majority of managers.

This thing of mollycoddling is just made up in peoples heads. Its always possible managers dont have the character to drop bigger players....but its equally possible he sees both in training and still sees Baines as the better option right now. I certainly don't agree that Baines has been awful so far this season.

My problem is people going with the most negative option, deciding its fact and then fuming based on this "fact" they have just made up.
