Supposedly the only thing stopping it being agreed is he wants assurances over his playing time
Don't know if you are talking about a deal with Everton or Liverpool.

But he needs regular playing time at his age so can't blame him. Also, Luke Shaw wiil probably get the U21 LB spot for the upcoming tournament but if Garbutt had regular game time and performed well he might get in ahead of him, especially as Shaw keeps on picking up injuries.

For Everton.

According to the echo efc correspondent, both the club and the player want to agree a deal the only sticking point is his playing time

I heard he doesn't think he'll get games with us to to Baines wanting to stay a few more years and Fraudgers has said to him he'd get plenty games for them as he's still unsure over that Spanish kid Moreno they signed

Rodgers wouldn't have the balls to announce (esp to FSG) that he was "still unsure" about a player that only a few months ago theyd spewed £12m on and furthermore wanted to get the chequebook out again for a novice to the Premier League.

Ahhh the old 'act as though you don't really know who their players are' trick. Textbook.

if i was a liverpool fan i'd be unsure as what moreno is as well. a left back who has no defensive qualities whatsoever - liverpool that. imagine spending £150m and still needing to pick up a backup left back from your poor neighbours because he can then get game time.

Moreno is absolute dog. Weakest defender I've ever seen and gets lose going forward. Knocked over by a blade of grass him. I can see why Liverpool want Garbutt (if they do), as he'd probably get a game for them in my opinion.

Hope he doesn't go.

It's exactly what any of the traditional "top 4" teams would do. I don't see why we can't either.

The lad obviously has talent, and Martinez probably has his reasons (good or bad) for not giving him more playing time.

Exactly; i really don't understand why these fringe players aren't being let out on loan - Browning, Garbutt, Ledson, etc. would benefit all of them and i think they would all be wanted by Prem/decent Championship teams

I'd have loved to have known his "reasons" for not giving him game time when Baines was injured. Instead, preferring a 34 year old RIGHT BACK struggling with fitness.
