Mr Everton, love ya Bainsey.

There's no doubt that Garbutt looks a great prospect, great going forward and a great delivery on him, not sure if he's been tested defensively yet he's not yet been put under any pressure so lets wait and see on that score before we all have him replacing Baines or Oviado, but we deffo need to keep him.( By the way he does have a weird run.)

That boy can cross the ball, best crosser at the club.
Hes the future, teh near future hopefully!
Garbutt FB, Baines in front of him, love it!

I do remember him looking particularly solid defensively against Wolfburg.

Needs to be signed up and sent out on a year loan to a lower prem team next season. He's the absolute business but Baines won't be displaced yet.

To add balance he did look a bit over the place defensively at times.

His set pieces are sound, first one hit the front man and i thought sht, the curse is upon him now, then he started putting in boss corners and free kicks again so was just a blip

We've offered him a contract now its down to him. If he signs great he will be a good player but if he doesn't fair enough he was the wrong type of character anyways. I understand he wants to play, if he signs contract next season we loan him out and if anything happens to Baines either injury wise or severe loss of form we recall him.

The loser here could be Oviedo. Baines is our number one but Garbutt could see more first team action as he gradually begins the process of replacing Baines.Oviedo can play further forward but his best position is left back .

A decent bid for Baines in the summer would be interesting.

Yeah exactly, he must surely look around and see Stones, Barkley, Lukaku, Besic even McCarthy all of similar ages with great potential and think he'd like to be part of this. Plus there's obviously a few others emerging from the u21's. If he's got the right intelligence and character he'll surely realise this is the best place for his development, and who better to learn of than Baines.

It's totally on him this decision.

He moaned about first team chances. Well he's had them now. If he doesn't sign a new contract it's all been a smokescreen because he wants to leave anyway.

As said above by sagey: defensively he's still learning a lot. He also misplaced a few passes that'd have been punished against top class teams.

If a player who's so raw is dictating terms to a manager it's a pretty poor situation. Sign/dont sign. He's merely a prospect in any case.

He looks decent, hes got one of the best left backs in the league in front of him though and at 30 years old Baines has a few years in front of him still.

Depends if he wants to bide his time and earn that spot or start playing regularly at a lower Premier league team.
