I think a new left back is the best choice

Yes probably but we will still need cover there at some point as Baines is getting older, so now is an ideal time to give Garbutt a run out as we don't have a new one. I have a feeling though many might be disappointed with who we get at LB (if we do) as I still think Sam will see Baines as first choice.

I get what you’re saying, but if people who clearly aren’t good enough deserve a chance we may as well start getting people off the street for a laugh.

Whether or not Garbutt is very good or not, he actually is a professional footballer that has played professional games,so imo it wouldn't be stupid playing him.

I think you’re in the minority, most everton fans have see the rapid decline in 12months. Says a lot that Martina, who is getting some stick for his performances. Imagine if this was 5 yrs ago and Martina was replacing Baines in his pomp.

Then why not just sign some left back from Stevenage or Carlisle or someone? They’re professionals too, and also not good enough.

I'll be very surprised if Baines when fit wont be first choice until at least summer, that's not my choice I'm all for a younger quality LB but I just think in the managers eyes, Baines us still first choice whenever comes in.

If you include Unsworth ( bear in mind he's been part of his U23's ), four managers have deemed him not good enough to be anywhere near the first team.

There has to be a reason for this and it can only be be he's not good enough.
