Any chance like?

Obviously I/we don’t see him in training every day so there could be a very good reason he’s the forgotten man, but to not even register him in the squad when Baines was the only recognised left back is just criminal.

He seemed to do ok when he had a little run of games a few seasons ago.

Just my opinion anyway, we’re crying out for a proper left back and we have a decent one right under our noses.

He was poor in The Championship for both Fulham and Wigan. At one point for Fulham he was subbed off before half time.

Martina is nowhere near a decent left back, but I’m not sure Garbutt is either.

Going forward he would give us a lot more than Martina. Defensively, I don’t know but Martina has improved a lot defensively under Allardyce.

Let's face it, if no one at the club who train him and watch him play think he's worth a go by now , he probably isn't. As mentioned above he has been particularly poor in both his loans , which doesn't recommend him for first team duties.

Is it, though?

I personally wonder if he could be any worse than Martina. But we can’t just say “worth a go” about all the players who aren’t good enough.
Yes I think it is, Martina isnt great there so why not, any player getting his chance would put in the effort and we might be pleabtly surprised.

We might also lose every game 7-0.

I get what you’re saying, but if people who clearly aren’t good enough deserve a chance we may as well start getting people off the street for a laugh.
