Koeman in a prematch interview said when asked about Joe Hart said "No interest," and then confirmed later in that there was never any interest on in his part in signing the player. With him saying HE was never interested, I wonder if it was the likes of Moshiri or Kenwright who may have had tried to bring Hart in.

Maybe Lou, of that was the case I wish they had stuck their bloody nose in and made it happen. Regardless of injury Stekelenberg should have been dropped after the Burnley game with the way he dealt with the first goal. Then Robles puts in a solid performance only to be dropped. Yesterday he was absolutely diabolical, I actually thought "bloody hell I would have Howard back at this moment in time". I regained my senses and realised that was a terrible idea but that's how bad I thought he was.

if we had robles in goal yesterday im convinced it would have only been 3-0 at worst ! that 5-0 score line just gonna make it a bad day in the office on monday ! come on watford !

There is a reason he has played in the top flight and that is because he is talented, there is also a reason he is not top class and that is because his talent is not consistent. He is a poor man's Joe Hart.

Fair enough it's all about opinions but up till the burnley game, stek had been very much in credit with his performances. His performances against Spurs and city were top drawer. I was 'in the camp' that he should have been brought back for yesterday's game. Sadly he was one of many players who was distinctly below average and due to it being 2 poor games in a row, I think he will be dropped for the next game. However Robles doesn't instil great confidence in me and I'm afraid we're back talking again about our summer transfer business, when many of us feared we had 2 number 2 goalkeepers at the club but not a recognised number 1.

Agreed Robles isn't the answer mate. Stekkers was superb against Spurs, made a couple of great saves against West Bromwich though I thought he was poor for their goal, same as the boro goal tbh. Made a great save against Stoke, one of the best performances I've seen against City followed by dreadful mistakes against Burnley and yesterday. That sums up a rank average keeper unfortunately for us. Joel is no better but kept a clean sheet against West Ham so should have kept his place. Probably won't be until next season now when we might finally get a competent keeper. Dropped an absolute bollock not bringing in someone this summer though but I guess the same applies to not bringing in enough quality.

Let's be honest he was the reserve keeper at Fulham, great that he played in a World Cup final and all but isn't the future of this club. Break the bloody bank for Heaton, Pickford or Forster or better still a bloody German like Leno. Sick of having scrap in the nets. He is a backup keeper simple as that.

I don't know how many times i've had to say this, but he wasn't a reserve keeper at Fulham.

But yes, we still need to go out and get a first-team quality keeper that's going to push us to the next level.

The issue is, they aren't available in January.

You can say it as much you want, but he was reserve keeper at Fulham. He played much of the first season but lost his place after conceding 6 goals in the first 2 games under magath and failed to oust David stockdale for the last couple of months of the season.

Yes the last 2 seasons he wasn't playing for financial reasons, but he had already become 2nd choice anyway.

In 14 games for club and country this season I make him responsible for conceding 5 goals. That's appalling, and an outstanding display against city and good one against spurs is nowhere near enough to justify keeping somebody with that sort of record in the side.

I was saying he looked a good signing after that City performance, but in hindsight, he's already had too many errors this season to convince me he's anything more than an average backup keeper. Every player is available in January if the money is right. Obviously we'll sign not one because the club has no ambition, as proven in the summer.

He won us points against Spurs, West Brom, Stoke and City.

He's not the level we need to push us on and that is poor that we didn't get somebody in.
