Well 1st game played, 1st point won, would you agree ?
He earned us a point today, no question.

My question to you and others is: we have three weeks left to secure a GK. Do you feel like we should push our luck with Stekelenburg or invest in a top class GK who'll hopefully serve us for years?

It's easily answered for me.

Tbd Dave, he got us a point today with two world class saves, the second one would be getting wanked over on motd, sky etc if it was De Gea.

IF he can produce that form regularly keeper moves hugely down the list of what's needed.
It's a big if though. As said above in that last post of mine: do you take the chance he maintains that form or go all out to get top class?

Depends on what we have to spend / what's considered a priority. To shoot £30mill + on someone like Hart may not be a bright idea when we have other pressing needs.

think he buys us time at the worse, we're not going to be winning the league this season, for me it's a rebuilding season and hopefully a top 7 finish. Maybe it might take the pressure off rushing out and spending money on a keeper before this window closes, and perhaps have a real good look around at whether there are better options come January.

Get a new keeper and let them fight for the spot. He was great today and it will all be fine until he inevitably makes a game changing mistake or goes on a bad run, then the fans will get on his and Koeman's back because we never bought a top class keeper. It will become an albatross around Koeman's neck at some point if he doesn't sign a new gk.

So what's the deal with this guy?

A Dutch mate of mine, who's an Ajax ST holder & who's opinion I respect, said "you've got the 2nd best ever Dutch keeper there".

So why was he a Fulham reserve?

Have to say seeing him close up today, I'm a LOT less concerned about our keeper situation.

I'd rather take time & sign top class. No point rushing. Is Joe Hart any better?

He was absolutely brilliant today, don't think he's the answer long-term to be our no.1 but having him in the squad is a great thing. A Hart loan would do us well imo but I'm pleasantly surprised by Stekelenburg

Stek has years of experience at club and international level.

He can be our first choice for many years as far as I'm concerned.

I really don't understand what some of the posters on here expect from a keeper.
