I reckon Butland would jump at the chance to leave Stoke to come to us. Who wouldn't?!
If we flash our skirt at him I can see him wanting the move. Then bid too much for Stoke to refuse.
Easy this game.
I know it's a bit harsh as it was a screamer but I think his positioning was off on the first goal and it gave me an unwanted flashback to Tim Howard: The Crap Years

It was a belting shot, but he seemed to go for it with his right hand instead of his left hand, don't think he would have saved it anyway even with his left arm outstretched.
Again I could be wrong and I'm no expert on goalkeeping, but my first thought was he should be closer to his line and if he was he would have gotten it.
DM should have signed him when he was on the market for 1 million deffo one that got away imo !
Using his other hand may have helped also!
It would have been a fantastic save, but that's what a top keeper does like big Nev did for us!

i'd worry about butland's fitness, i think he's quite injury prone tbh and get less impressed the more i see, think he's a good shot stopper and doesn't have the right all round game, think pickford's distribution is a lot better from what i've seen.

His close out on Hazard was terrible. He might as well have just stayed in the goal. He fumbled a few chances including the free kick that he deflected onto Cahill. I try not to blame the keepers too much, but Steklenburg was bad. Joel is the better keeper out of the two.
I think it's easy to look a good keeper when you are playing for a bad team! He has 20 shots per game to save!
Sure he would. Stoke is a graveyard for players that had potential to be good but for whatever reason just couldn't be arsed. No one has ever gone to Stoke and progressed as a player, ever.
After the first however many games I thought Stekelenberg had impressed and could've been a cheap answer for the short term- but the second goal wasn't great at all, let down by the wall but reactions almost slow-mo.
