Excellent shot stopper, but what separates him from our recent keepers is his ability to command his box. Gets out of the six yard box quicker than any of our recent keepers and would imagine he has a fairly good success rate at claiming/punching the ball when he comes for it. Takes so much pressure off the defence and means we don't have to defend so deep, which has been our downfall for a while.

Il happily admit i saw him as nothing more than a back up GK when he signed because for the last 4/5 years he had dropped a level from earlier in his career but looks to have found a way back to that level if not better than before his move to Roma.
Very similar to Van Der Sar that he seems to be hitting his prime in the later years of his career.

He did what was required. Exactly what we'd want surely. I think some expect him to be putting things on a plate for lukaku or coming up and knocking headers in from corners.
That's very narrow sighted with regards to what a goalkeeper does. He was part of the reason they had so few attempts on target.

Fair play to the guy, I think he know's he's playing for his place here as he could so easily have ended up as backup again, and he's playing a blinder. No way could he be dropped at the moment, we'd have to sign a top 5 in world keeper to even think about it on his current form
