I think Koeman likes the way he plays, it allows the defence to set up that bit further up the field. We all know the problems Howard caused the defenders with his inability to leave his line.
Hart isn't that much better than Stek, I don't see the need to spend a fortune on a keeper unless he is a big improvement on what we have. Prefer to spend money on a midfielder, Scheidelin for example, and a forward. We need to score goals to kill teams off.

He's looking like the Stek of his Roma tenure. Who was one of the best keepers in the world at the time, genuinely.

If he keeps it up then he's a great number one, and we're sorted really. He's stepped up and that should be rewarded, regardless of reputation or what club he came from.

No. Just no. He really was awful at Roma. He was very good just before he got there, but all the hype or the difficulty in stepping up to a bigger league or something just ruined him. The only two times they finished out of the European places in Serie A in the last fifteen years were the two years he was their goalkeeper, and he was the biggest reason. Think about it this way -- if he had been playing well for them, would they have shipped him out to Fulham for less money than they paid for him after only two seasons?

I don't want to take anything from what he's done for us so far -- he looks a completely different player (in a limited sample, granted) than he did at Roma. Revisionist history doesn't help anyone, though.

With no one to compete with, will he become another Howard? I would love to see Hart at Everton he's only 29 best years ahead of him.
