What's to be judged? He's a decent keeper. He's just not top draw. The last three weeks have highlighted that to good effect.
Agreed, hes not a top keeper, how many teams in the league have such a thing tho?
I mean how many top, top keepers are their currently in World Football?
A few weeks ago I would have put the boy Stegen in that group, but he made a boob the other day, so he can no longer be considered, De Gea? Also made a boob in the past, Cech? Boob, Lloris? Boob.
So there you have it, not a single top class Keeper in world football, cos they have all at 1 point made a boob.
Stickleback has done very well so far for us, not a single error leading to a goal, 5 goals conceded in 7 games, im happy with that.

He hasnt cost us anything yet, I dont have a crystal ball, im sure at some point he will make a mistake, humans make mistakes David, im not even saying hes amazing, im saying, I and Ronny will judge the lad till January, im sure if an upgrade becomes available we will make it.

Knocked on his arse by Berahino and cost us versus WBA, got mugged on his line by Arnoutovic at home to Stoke, sat rooted to the ground as Benteke looped a ball over him from about 14 yards out. I could give a flying one about him letting Holland down, but that one tonight was laughable.
Sorry. He's ok. Decent at the basics, but not our number one and never will be.

dave??? I've just watched it back and the Arnautovic one was a great bit of goalkeeping. Showed him wide when one on one then made a great save from point blank range. What are you on about?
IMO he hasnt made a single error while in goal for us, you disagree, thats fine, I certainly wont be trying to change your mind, as ive said, if another keeper becomes available in January of a higher standard im sure we will move for them, until then, hes vastly superior to Robles, so its a null point.

First off benteke header didn't loop over him.... it was a great header right in the corner... the WBA match he made two outstanding saves at 1-0 and we ended up winning. He earned us a point against spurs and could do nothing against Norwich or Bournemouth to prevent those goals.

Not against getting a new first team goalie all along but we have Stek and Robles till January so the answer is clear. Robles is crap and Koeman does not seem to rate him at all. Stek got to start for the time being.

After watching Howard and Robles flapping around for three seasons I've got no problem with Stek. Goalkeeper is the least of this team's problems.
I've said this before and will say it again, for the last time. Stek is a good keeper, not a great keeper. He will make some mistakes but he will make some good stops. If a great keeper came along I would take him. If it was a choice of spending limited funds on the squad I would spend it elsewhere. At the moment.

Agreed - I doubt we could get someone better without over paying
Especially in January unfortunately. Rarely will a goalkeeper switch half-way through the season - if that goalkeeper is first-choice, and we need a 'first-choice' keeper to improve us.
While I think we all know that long-term, Stek won't/can't be the no.1, as you and others have said, it's not an issue at the moment and despite what Dave is pedalling, he hasn't cost us. I'm sure he will make a mistake at some point but it happens - compared to what we've had to deal with for the past 2 seasons or so, it's a non-starter.
