I think the three behind the striker will be more fluid and rotate. I don't see what's unreasonable about having four players for three/four positions(Richarlison may play up front at times too) It's not obscene. It's what we should aim for. Our problem has been our rotation options up to now have been largely tosh. We are assuming Sigurdson will always be our number ten too, I think at times we could play a 433 with no number ten and three forwards. That's Silva's actual preferred formation. Sig is 30 too he won't play every single game.

Fair enough. Noneof these players really suit the sig role though. I actually agree with what you are saying IF massive IF we can make it work. A fluid attack. Last season there were tiny glimpses of it but overall I felt a bit rigid. Let's see if it can be implemented with the right players.

Can see more of a flat 433 if Sig doesn't start.

Their articles are so poor, 10 paragraphs of background that is either completely irrelevant or common knowledge for one sentence of general to the point rubbish. Such a terrible rag from a sporting perspective.

I would like a true 10 backup to plug in like for like if Sig can’t play. I’m leery of changing shape if the shape is working and everyone knows their roles. I cringe every time a team I follow decides to play three at the back for the first time in twenty games, and the CBs keep bumping into each other and running around randomly like a Benny Hill skit because they don’t know where they’re supposed to be.

I agree to an extent but would we be able to get a quality player in that position behind Siggy tho? Barring injury they would be looking at what, 5-10 games max. I think it makes more sense to get the best quality forward we can get and shift around as necessary. I also would like to see Bernard in that role some

Difference between being Benched and rotated though. I also think we'll see Siggurdsson's spot under threat as well.
 
Heard Barca are after a cash-plus-player deal for Malcom.

They want Bolasie plus 2m.

Bernard can play there, admittingly he'd play it a different way to Siggurdson does with a bit more craft rather than guilt-edge but even so. The three behind the striker would rotate throughout the game and I cant see Siggurdson drifting out wide to do that. Modern attacking wingers tend to be able to play anywhere in that sort of attacking-midfield part of the pitch these days.

Also a 433 flat probably doesnt see Siggurdsson play.
