Man City to sue PL

If I were a City fan, I’d just embrace the club’s villain status

Has to be less exhausting than trying to argue that they are actually a force for good

You’ve bought the league, so what?

If you’re my age you’ve seen your club in League One and been through every low as well as every high

Embrace what your club is

Enjoy it even

This is your time, and if you’re old enough you paid many a penance to get here

Just stop trying to argue this as anything other than you guys winning the lottery and breaking the league at the same time

Be the villains. At least then you can live honestly
Nailed it

When people make a faustian pact there is always a toll to pay.

The PL, politicians, broadcasters, gambling companies and journalists have been happy to slurp champagne and chomp on prawn sandwiches while letting nation states, crooks and chancers buy up historical clubs without challenge or criticism. They've been more than happy for football to go full tory and disenfranchise the normal fan who was the lifeblood of clubs.

I will shed a tear for these guys when the PL eats itself.

The last line is spot on, the revenue situation is similar to the Bosman situation all them years ago.

A power play between players and the club. The players won.

Now it is between clubs and the league that governs it. The only thing keeping these big clubs from leaving is the broadcast deals being a large percentage of revenue.

If you allow City to pump huge sums of money regardless of the fairness. Then City have leverage over the league as they won't need them anymore and can seek better ventures elsewhere.

We are treading on territory of domestic games being played abroad and the European competitions being more important than the Premier league itself.
