Similiar to the previous period when McCarthy was out,Barry showed his weakness when being played with a slow DM. It was Gibson then and now Besic.

Barry plays well in a deeper position when he has another midfielder toanother cover ground. When Barkley came on, Barry played better. As for why Barry stayed on, I guess Roberto feels Barry is a lower risk than besic.
Besic isn't slow

On paper, losing 1 - 0 to Manchester City away is no disgrace. However, we are in danger of becoming a team of losers. Not going for the jugular when City looked decidedly shaky was very disappointing. We looked tired and short of ideas, although this picked up when Barkley came on.
The experiment to play Hibbert instead of Coleman at full back obviously wasn't working after the first twenty minutes and should have been abandoned at that point. Martinez seemed incapable of seeing this and his team changes backfired badly.

Four wins in fifteen league games leaves where we belong - in the bottom half of the table and much nearer a relegation scrap than challenging for Europe again.

i agree with you but both wolfsburg games were highly in our favour

??? one or two dodgy decisions in each. that was about it. totally different league and refs i might add. we get nowhere near as much dodgy decisions as the other top 7 get, that's plain for everyone to see. think we laid down and accepted the penalty decision a bit too easily. should have been all over the ref after seeing our striker nearly get paralyzed and our DM nearly get decapitated

Just my opinion, but honestly..both sides should be docked points for that shambles, and the referee should never be allowed to referee again at any level for a very long time. Only Eto'o and Milner came out with any credit, and acted professionally. Anyon e who still thinks Barkley is 'world class' is living in a royal blue tinted world of make believe. Less blame to Lukaku, and Mirallas to some extent, they had very little support, but frankly the rest looked ill...has a virus hit us but not been reported?

Ultimately, Martin Tyler hit the nail on the head. Poor City were up against it and had to go with what they had against a powerful Everton side at absolute full strength. The character City displayed had him crying and shaking.

The kindest thing I can say about Tyler and Marriner is that they haven't been quite the same since Elm Guest House shut down.

Maybe not Joe Royle, but Yes I would but you have to understand this is not kneejerking, if you look through the Martinez mask thread I have been consistent even last season I call it how I see it, I don't say things for the likes like some I say it because I firmly believe it, that style of play is not good enough in the league, the better teams in this league will just beat us and the weaker teams will sit back and know that we won't create, we are currently wasting the best squad of my Everton supporting lifetime in my opinion. This season is at this point a write off, if we win the next 7 games you wont hear from me but we won't and you will, its not good enough, even under moyes we created chances 1 this game nothing against spurs but a wonder goal nothing against hull after we scored west ham we had a great etoo chance other than the 2 goals we cant get by on 2 or 3 chances a game and the reason for that is we build so slowly we allow teams to get into position and stop us.
Fair enough. Thats your opinion...

Who would you get in mate?

Pulis?

What is it about us and penalties against us at Man City?

Do ye realize this is the third season in a row we've been done by a bad penalty decision at Man City?

Last season we had a pen awarded against Coleman for nothing when Zabeletta went diving in the box

Season before that we drew 1-1 after Fellaini put us ahead and then had a very very harsh penalty given against him

And that today

I hate football
