Man Utd get more injury time when they need it, The Guardian

Look, its not the Manc players "cheating" for extra time now, is it? The added time thing would have to be an accusation towards the manager/the club bribing the reff or influencing the officials behind the scenes.

Saying that to the FA they would have to investigate cheating in football and do a blanket sweep of all the top clubs...

Sparky was probably a word away from saying that Fergie is a cheat. And he should know if that's true as he played for them.

Or people can stop moaning and get on with the game.

If Utd hadn't scored , none of this would matter.....Surely profeesionals are told to play to the final minute, no matter if it is 90mins or 98mins.
The Rugby League / Union have an independent time keeper don't they? I mean the ref signals to stop the clock and to start it again when play is resumed. Would it work in footie?

I think the 4th official does that, allocates the added time.

And I agree, wouldnt be a big deal if it stayed as a draw.

If I were Hughes I'd be more pissed off with how shocking his defence were all game, not staying near Owen, and not keeping the ball or running to the corner flag to milk the time.

If we took the board scenario away showing the alloted time remaining , it would then be not apparent "extra" time was added.
Brings me to the question why was it introduced in the first place?

There's nothing wrong with how it is nowdays anyway.

Teams just need to concentrate till the final whistle goes. Its gutting if it happens (remember us against Villa?) but if you're defence or team isnt on the ball from the 1st minute to the last, you're gonna get done.

to make it more evident how much at least is being added.
saves us all whistling for 7 minutes and risking the said cacophony of noise being picked up by an alien spaceship which then zooms to earth, sucks away all our drinking water and takes away john mccririck as a sample of humanity.

I think it was down to [Poor language removed] defending really, why's no one furious about that? They lost because they conceded four goals.

Lescott must be made up as no ones asking him exactly what he done to earn him money.

& Because you have the referees in your back pocket. Don't deny it. I guarentee that if United were already winning the match even when city scored in added time, an extra 2 minutes wouldn't have been played. The amount of times you've been helped to victories you don't deserve by referees. Remember the penalty Wigan should have had against you at the JJB on the last day of 07/08? Rio's hand ball?

Remember the penalties you got at home to Bolton and Spurs last season? Remember Mascherano getting sent of at old trafford for asking the referee 'why' when Rooney was able to tell him to '**** off' and harrass him about his decisions all match and didn't recieve so much as a yellow card? Mind you, it was Steve 'manc loving' Bennett so it was to be expected really...

Team full of cheats, all you are, all you ever will be, you are reliant on referees, I don't know how much longer it will last, but until it ends everyone else is pretty much ****ed. Whenever United are drawing or losing (home or away) there is ALWAYS four minutes at least. Always.

Thankyou

You have lived up to the stereotype

Rather than stoop to your level and trade insults

I will state a FACT

WE ARE A BETTER FOOTBALL TEAM THAN YOU AND HAVE BEEN FOR A LONG TIME (y)

cheats ? you are obviously out havin' a burst when steevie me laar sets out on one of his dashes through the trenches before being gunned down from behind.
my r/s mates tell me they find it embarrasing as he's not even good at it, how refs cant see it is beyond belief, suggesting that they are in someones pocket whilst at 'the midden'.

That is fecking funny as feck :D

You have been for a long time, yes. It remains to be seen this season however...

You have Torres and Gerrard. That's it. Chelsea were in turmoil last season and United were fighting on four fronts to the very end and playing overseas tournaments. They're the only reason Liverpool got as close as they did.

Deluded.
