Tbh it just looked like 11 individuals, bar Tevez and Kompany, that were playing for themselves. No unity.

That's what Moyes was meaning with his prematch words about spirit and unity. Oh, and playing mind games to crank up the pressure, of course. It worked...

To build that kind of unity takes time. The problem City have is that the money you've now got breeds expectation. Which breeds impatience. (Still can't believe that you canned Sparky tbh). Which means that RM may not be given the opportunity to build something long term like us, Man Utd (sorry, SWP), Arsenal, Villa. In fact the only manager who is reasonably long-in-post and is unsuccessful is Rafael - which of course is hilarious for us blues.

But to get over what you've described above as 11 individuals can be done, just takes a while. Will your owners give somebody the chance to achieve that?

Good luck on the run-in, then. Just not as much as us.....

At the star of the season the expectation was top six. Hughes was on course for that.
However he was sacked so the goal posts have now moved and if we fail to get 4th it will be deemed as a failure.

Mancini came in and on some easy games which Hughes probably would of won anyway.

I was a big Hughes fan.

The key difference with Hughes and Mancini is that with Hughes, win lose or draw it was bloody exciting. Always entertaining. We had a go at everyone. We attacked teams regardless of who they were and if we lost, at least we knew we'd given it a real go. Hughes was passionate and got the crowd going.

However, due to his United connections, many fans never gave him a chance.

No excuses, I said I wouldn't run away if we lost and I haven't.
We were beaten by the better, hungrier team on the night and deservedly beaten.

Well played, from a City fan.
Still think we can get 4th though but we need to vastly improve on last nights performance.

Fair play, SWP. Appreciate you recognizing the match for what it is and taking a even assessment of the match. Wouldn't blame you if Citeh had won and you crowed but on the flip, you are humble in defeat. Good on you.

i hope you stick around SWP, you'll fit in well here with your honesty and refusal to conform with typical "other club supporting belters" :)

to be fair to them in the pub after the game with me man city mates they had nothing but praise for the way we went about them.

Can I just say a big well done to Ossie once again, much maligned but I rate the little man.

ossie played great yesterday, saha + nevvile where the only ones
for me that didnt seem to make an effort. 'two-nil, nothing to moan
about anyway , ITS ON!!!!!!!!!!!

i will hold my hands up here, i'd never rated him but since the turn of the year especially, he's been fantastic, he's made so much difference and has come on and changed games

I haven't been able to get a chance to reply to this, I haven't seen the highlights, or even that little handbags nonsense with Moyes and Mancini, maybe it was blown out of all proportion, you know how tabloid hacks are, but it made the back pages, made a nice change from the usual bullshit that has saturated the last few pages just recently.

The game took on a greater significance because of all the pre season Lescott business and Hughes throwing toys out the pram, and there has been a steady build up of animosity between rival fans since the summer, but I don't hate them by any means.

I'll try and get to see it on Football Focus in the morning they will surely have it, and that Moyes incident near the end, should be included, but all said, and keeping it short, I heard the boys did good mid week and inflicted a first home defeat this season on light blues.

well done to all involved, and the season is not over yet.
