Just our luck to smash these and hand the RS a Christmas lead. Knowing us, again, it'll be the defeat that ultimately costs City the title. And we'll finish seventh regardless of the result here. Still, smash these, Blues.

I think I would go 3-4-3

Pickford
Keane Mina Zouma
Coleman Davies Gomes Digne
Walcott DCL Richarlison

Subs
Stekelenburg Kenny Baines McCarthy Bernard Sigurdsson Lookman

I would go for the quickest 3 up top to try and catch them on the break. As we have 3 CB I would play Davies alongside Gomes as he is the one most likely to push forward. Gueye is nursing an injury so would leave him out altogether. I would bring McCarthy on at about 60 minute mark. I would go 3 at the back so we are doing something different. If we go like for like they dominate every department this gives them something to think about. Sigurdsson slightly off the boil so he would be rested ready to go all guns blazing at Spurs. Kenny on the bench instead of Jagielka as he can play both RWB and RCB in a 3. No Tosun in squad as he just isn't good enough and either Richarlison or Walcott can go through the middle if DCL gets injured.

I'm hoping that their midweek CL match slows them down. They've been a bit off the boil, lately, and this could be a good time to play them. Trouble is, so
have we, and we'd need to have one of our good days in any event.

Love to see us stuff them. I certainly don't give a toss if it helps that other shower. No chance though.
If Aguero doesn't play it'll be Jesus who who get the goals. Their defence is far too good for us to score more than one goal, and their keeper is fantastic even if we do breach their backline. Can see this two or three nil to really make us regret those recent pathetic home performances.

If we go in 3-0 down at half time and then lose 3-0, at least we can say the defence held its own during the second half.

We will be hooofing the ball from defence towards the half way line every 60 seconds.

I like this idea
I hope he goes for this. DCL is not scoring, but he's quick and should start using some strength to hassle defenders, while he 's unable to score. Or he should try to act like Giroud and be good at that plus link up play. A non-scoring attacker is ok for a while if he can develop other skills

Only thing is chances will be at a premium so hopefully they will fall to Richarlison. With no Sigurdsson on the pitch he is our only real converter. The all out pace will give them a dilemma as to hold a high line or not. Any disruption to their game plan could see them wobble. Also having a game where we aren't favourites could work in our favour.

They aren't in great form at the moment and have a few injuries so there's worse times we could play them.

Plus our record at the Eithad is very decent compared to most sides. Even post-2008.

We've put in good performances away at all the top sides this season and have just a point to show for it.

It's going to be tough but time to add to that tally and I don't give a flying one what a result for us would mean elsewhere.
