Floor boards to place in Pickford's goal, to completely board the goal up - using him as a sweeper as we do anyway, we would still get beat It's our lucky ground we only go there once a year anyway ......

Just general things that must have changed since getting all the money? I’m sure the original fan base must be pretty well diluted now. Things like that, I don’t mean this in an awful way but I always had more time for city than Utd and that’s pretty much flipped the other way around now.
Having seen us play at Maine road for 23 years under Peter Swales and another 4 years under Franny Lee as chairman who both ran the club that was in constant turmoil and underachievement because of their meddling and incompetence things have very much changed for the better. But during those barren years of winning nothing and being relegated/ promoted several times being a City supporter was not easy, especially with United fans constantly mocking our misfortunes. We still turned up in numbers home and away. We turned up and turned to drink to cheer us up, well i did? The terrace banter was brilliant, even better in 87 when we invented the inflatable craze away at West Brom. It got us through the bad times. Being amongst the dead men in the (old) third division was demoralising, there were certain times that almost broke me but the worse we got on the pitch the more defiant and resilient us fans became off it. Not many clubs will attract a sell out 32k home games like we did, i couldn't get a ticket for some games.

I thought we'd never get back to my early memories of winning the league and UEFA cup in the late 60s early to mid 70s since our 76 league cup win, seemed a million miles away. All of a sudden we hit the ownership jackpot in 2008 and we slowly started to be successful through initially buying players well above their market value. Our owners have been brilliant delivering every promise so far. The fan base is diluted for a few reasons. The main two are cost and ill health of older fans and many old standing blues have been priced out. I had a season ticket the duration of Our new ownership, this season I've had to give it up as i can't afford it. Still managed to get to 3 games though.

Football at the top end of the PL is all about having the money to compete, silverware cannot be won without spending big, and we've spent more than most. But the most pleasing thing for me is developing youngsters in our academy and seeing them coming through into the first team. Foden is a special player, Cole Palmer and 18 year old Rico Lewis are also doing well, all local lads too.

I'd hate to be a young City fan growing up never having seen us at our lowest, it gave me a sense of perspective and humility over all our recent success.

I remember going to Maine Road. It was a dreadful day for me, lost my money and we got beat 4-0. The Walsh/Rossler partnership got two each. It was before Alan Ball became City’s manager I think.

City are well capable of the odd misstep and Everton, even during woeful spells when they're losing at home to bottom-of-the-table clubs, often seem to up their game when facing superior opposition, so I'm guessing the hyperbolic-but-not-really predictions of crushing humiliation won't come to pass.

I hope our defense keep City's scoring within reasonable limits and mock Phil Foden's hairstyle without mercy.

we are never going to get a result here. one game I'd shut up shop and hope for a low score loss. but we will prob go all out for it. injure 4 players and get beat 6 nil

Brighton at home should be treated like a world cup final by our lot where we should go all out for it. but we won't. we will shrink into not taking the game on. Pass the ball backwards. no intensity and lose in injury time.

everton that
