I think you overrate the squad.

Up front there's nothing beyond a half-fit DCL.

I believe there’s enough there to stay up but we don’t seem to have a galvanising element or style that we had in years gone by when we had similar struggles. Just a lack of passion maybe?

Was being sarcastic. Just pointing out that the support around a manager makes a lot of difference. He has players that fit him there and he’s getting a lot out of them now.

I'm pleased for him. I never disliked him. He just seemed to slowly sink into an impotent blob of frustrated jelly the longer he was with us.

In all seriousness, we're a team who look unable to take the lead and/or take the game by the scruff of the neck. We often leave it late before really kicking on.

This game is of course a different kettle of fish because of the opponents, but the mentality of the squad is something that doesn't feel right.
