People don't expect City to be wiped from the face of the earth, you little ray of sunshine, they want you to take responsibility for your actions and to accept whatever the outcome is, from your (alleged) abuse and obstruction of the rules of what was once a sport, with humility and acceptance for what you have (allegedly) done.

You buy a house, why should you be restricted to what you can spend on it?
If the oil states want to waste their money on a premier league teams so be it.
Teams shouldn't be restricted by what they spend to compete with those who can spend what they want because they've dominated the premier league era.

I mean if we’re using the house buying analogy, why should there be any restrictions on buying all the houses and just renting them out to student bums?
I do not believe in a complete laissez-faire approach to finances because there needs to be a long-term security of teams and the league - e.g. stop teams folding.
However, the current model doesn't work either because it maintains the status quo and stops teams competing. Why not require 10-year security bonds etc?
Indeed, I can't think of any examples of complete financial deregulation having any negative effects at all.

The rules need revised but by and large think they are fair. We deserved our punishment imo. The problem is the rules aren’t consistent and bigger teams circumnavigate them with ease.
Man City are one of the largest stake holders in the premier league. To severely punish them would be admitting the league has failed as just about all their titles would be defunct.
Pretty certain nothing much will happen, some pundits will say ‘but what about everton?’ for a few days before telling everyone pep is a genius for winning the league through ill gotten gains a few months later.
Everton fans cheering on city in this are out their minds.
