Thats just another offtopic post in a non Martinez related thread. I even stated that even if we had another manager brought in, he would make a marquee signing.

If you have followed some of my posts recently i think we need alot of new players. The young ones are fine as either signed by Martinez or developed by him to suit.

The fullbacks arent good enough defensively
Barry playing means 2 players for one role.
Besic injured means no dominant centre midfielder
There is no Yarmolenko on the left.

Also Bained/Coleman simply look weak unless they have midfield cover. Baines had this with Pienaar before and Coleman with Lennon....we are trying to play with wide attacking midfielders yet not with the correct personel. This could be blamed on Martinez of course but i think hes got his style and players need to fit into it.

I think if Baines was able to play central midfield like they were talking about we would have Oviedo or another left back....if Byram was signed i think Coleman would be on the bench.

I envisage a "breaking point" this summer where we hve players leaving as expected but also a few surprises as Martinez will be embarrassed by the league position and want his own players in now he has the money.

As long as we finish mid table with 2 cup semis (minimum) i think moshiri will keep him on.

Having slept on it, I wake up thinking that it was not all bad yesterday.

RM played two wingers including Del Boy - positive.
Dropped Besic and Mori after poor performances - positive
Jags and Stones were satisfactory- positive
Robles who saw more of the ball than Lukaku was ok -positive.

Then I think about about Lukaku, Barkley, Coleman, the lack of fight, the bad body language, the habitual poor substitutions and the exasperation. Years ago I bought a Lancia Car. Flash, big on style but too often in the garage
and always needing spare parts. Never really performed. Flogged it to an ex-friend.

Weird one was Besic for me. Something was up with him against arsenal but he played the internationald and gave positive interviews in the media. The game yesterday seemed ideal for his energy and drive.

Both full backs again looked poor. Lukaku can blow hot and cold when tightly marked.

Was amazed mirallas got on the pitch. Wasnt impressed and not sure if its Deulofeus fitness again or.....?

Well no. I am linking to you my comment not yours. I disagree about giving him more time and money.

I was not amazed but like you, Zatara, I was not impressed. Miralles looks as though he has slowed-up and needs half a dozen games to get match fit. I would never have taken off even a tiring Del Boy for him.

Also like you, I wondered about Besic. I actually googled him to see if he had been injured. Big loss in midfield but he was
so crap against Arsenal...

Also, why bring on Niasse and then play him on the left? He is a centre-forward.

So many questions and so little clarity.

Scary.

Answer: Martinez is lost

- He can spot the odd player, RL, & maybe Del. But:

MCCARTHY/ Besic injury prone, Niasse not fit, Kone not good enough, Alcaraz past it.

As a developer of talent

Barkley and Stones were here already, Baines and Coleman have gone backwards, Gibson Pienaar wasted or not released.

- Defending nouse, none
- Tactics, poor
- strategically ( I.e recognizing blend of players required at the season start, likely development of players, fitness if key players etc ), awful. No grock.

Cup runs tend to be symptomatic of league form. Sure there are exceptions, but do honestly want the continual league slide. Martinez is as lost as his awful body language suggests.

Our fatuous, aimless crossing isn't attractive, it's wasteful and aimless. The inability to defend has eroded team confidence in any other ' system ' that was otherwise evident ( not to me).

We are where we deserve to be, an inconsistent, muddled, unbalanced side lacking bite and graft. MOYES

One bright point .......... The Manure might just keep LVG.

Which rules out Mourinho going there ...... don't much care for JM the man, but he might just be what EFC need right now. And it would get the media jizzing

So its "crap" that he needs to make changes?

I count 5 positions today alone which need new players.

It's not crap that we need more players. What's crap is letting Martinez do it, it will not lead to an improvement in us. We will continue to be sloppy in defence with only a plan A.

Martinez seems like a nice guy and talks the talk the reality is over the last 2 seasons in the league he is not doing the business and another season of bottom half of the league or worse is not something we need.

I am sure Wigan and Portsmouth are still enjoying their FA Cup wins while mired in [Poor language removed], that's where Martinez could be taking us

I think it looks like he's lost the dressing room in all honesty. Players just aren't trying... Seems to me. The dropped heads, Unable to pass a ball, No movement off the ball. We looked like a team already relegated yesterday. Worrying times ahead me thinks.
I know it would be classed as knee Jerkin 2 months ago but he has to go. The players are deffo not enjoying they're football and the fans aint enjoying watching.

Thought this through again this morn. It was obviously a bad result and in some ways an inept 2nd half performance. But it was only our 2nd away defeat this season. We all know its our home form thats killed us this season. This must be a priority from now till the seasons end.

Absolutely.

Throw yesterday in with the home form and it is more evidence that RM is clueless yaddy yah.

Really, it was a typical away day at Utd. This needs to change long term of course, but right now I don't think it's a definer of anything.

Our top players will want away... The paying fans are dissatisfied.... I like the man but he at least has to take things back to basics or show he can turn this around. He states the home form is poor and now are away form looks no better, What needs to happen for this fella to be axed.... Relegation?? I guarantee he wont want to stay then.. Look at Wigan ffs. He was quick to say he wasn't the man to fight that fight. Come on!!!
