That’s why you’ll never see me on any kind of aircraft. Yes I miss out on seeing many parts of the world, but that’s a sacrifice I’m quite happy to make.

These private helicopters and planes seem to be even more hazardous, didn’t something similar happen to Matthew Harding at Chelsea?

Very upsetting scenes, RIP to those onboard.

...a bit off thread, but I think statistics would reveal its being much more dangerous travelling in a car than an aeroplane.

It’s a tragedy but I can’t see it impacting today’s games given details of those affected are yet to be released and the situation fully assessed. The immediate report suggested the helicopter was carrying the owner and members of his family. He has 4 children, who I expect are grown up and who I hope are not involved.

It’s a dreadful situation, just hoping nobody on the ground was caught up in this given folk around the ground after a football match.

I get that statistic thrown at me quite often Eggs, and I guess when you compare the amount of cars on the road, to the number of planes in the Sky, then you’re going to have more car fatalities.

I can’t think of many things more horrifying though than sitting on a plane knowing it’s in major trouble, looking out the window and seeing it hurtling towards the ocean, and having a window of around 5-10 minutes to come to terms that you’re about to die.

It’s thoughts like that that will stop me ever boarding a plane. Strangely enough, I don’t get that sense of dread when I get in my car to nip to the local shop to pick up my morning paper..

Anyway as you rightly say, completely off topic. IF this match goes ahead, a point would be terrific business. A win obviously is what we’re all wanting, but a point at Old Trafford will keep the little run ticking along and prolonging the current feel good factor.

Blummin' hell! Flying commercial airlines is about as safe as it gets - a life wasted my friend.

The match should go on, when "on the pitch people" die you postpone.. We are not yet in a place to win at OT but they are in the place to lose from us. We have chance if we smart, no conceding first 15 minutes. Their team spirit and relationships are very low, ours is very high. Very nice position, no pointing fingers if we lose but I Think we won't
